Me… I used to bin plates I couldn’t be bothered to clean. At one point I was buying new crockery almost weekly. I didn’t get paper one as I always told myself I would wash the next set.. then didnt.

I had a housemate at uni who paid to stream movies that he had upstairs in dvd form.

@LuluBlakey1

Spot on summary of the UK today.

People are actually proud of being lazy…

@LuluBlakey1 yes I agree, a lot of the comments are horrifying. But @swimlyn i don’t think being lazy needs to mean being proud of being so environmentally destructive.

I am lazy and also a bit tight. I do lazy things like sleep in the jumper I was wearing in the day, skip meals even if I’m hungry (just me, never DC)… But I would never in a million years through wearable clothes or crockery in the bin. I sew up holes regularly that appear in my or DC’s clothes because I am both lazy and tight - I can’t be bothered to go to the clothes recycling place and get new clothes just because of a small hole etc. I have a hole in my favourite trainers that I wear everyday. I can’t be bothered to change them especially when they’re so comfortable so I’ll wear them until the soles fall off.

  • throw I mean.

    I’d like to hope that most people were pretty horrified at all the throwing things in the bin comments.

@Wishawisha

What you describe is EXACTLY what I do myself. I’m retired on a stupidly low pension (funds stolen by so-called financial ‘advisors’)

You sound perfect to me with what you’re doing. 😎

Unfortunately where I live I’m surrounded by lazy destructive people which is soul destroying.

Keep up the good work! I certainly will…

I sprayed a jersey dress I was wearing with lenor crease release because I couldn’t be bothered to take it off and iron it when I realised how wrinkled and creased it was

Not heard of that - sounds useful

@Upwiththelark76 - if you were really lazy, then you wouldn't have even bothered to spray!

I wanted to add a lazy tip on the same theme - a blast with a v hot hair dryer on something if you are already wearing it helps creases drop out

And not the slightest sense of irony!

They probably genuinely think that they are working hard - all of that editing skill required in blurring/asterisking out swear words, pixellating nipples and carefully using their professional judgment as to whether 'busty display', eye-popping', 'endless pins', 'VERY', 'ample assets' or 'sideboob' is the most appropriate DM Bingo phrase to use for any article.

It does take an enormous amount of hypocrisy dedicated nuance to reconcile whether any article should be categorised in the main section, where you rail against porn, or in the side section, where you publish your own porn.

A teacher at my school in the 70s, when fabrics weren't what they are now, a teacher was known for wearing pristine pastel-coloured fine-knitted jumpers. Someone asked her how she kept them looking so fresh and new (most people's jumpers didn't keep that smart, new look for long in those days and dry-cleaning wasn't common). She said she liked the jumpers when they were new, so wore them 2/3 times and then threw them away and bought another.

This is why we're all in the mess we're in, I guess!

Tonight I made myself a vodka martini because I wanted a drink and I couldn't be bothered to remove cork out of a bottle of wine in the fridge with a cork screw because it felt like too much effort.

I think I've peaked laziness.

(vodka kept in the freezer so not even needing to shake over ice)
