To ask wtf was this cereal called?!

I need some early 2000’s knowledge here!

There was a cereal, between 2002-2006, it was squares, kind of like a multigrain style with a honey-ish taste. They came in a yellow box, they weren’t filled squares either just the outline, they had a hole in the middle and definitely weren’t golden grahams.

Its driving me round the bend, I cannot for the life of me remember what they were called

God I loved Start.

<sigh>

Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 14/03/2023 21:32

Why did we lose all these amazing cereals? Start, oat crunchies and Golden nuggets were all the food of Gods.

There's quite a few types of you type in Kellogg's crackles yellow box

Is that some kind of gigantic box at £8.99? Or is inflation even worse than I thought?

Honey puffs?

Riverlee · 14/03/2023 21:43

All the talk of Kellogg’s reminded me of Kellogg’s Rise and a shine, a powdered orange juice drink. Used to love that as a child.

Discovered recently that Kellogg’s Country store was still available. Haven’t had it for years.

BigBlueSloth · 14/03/2023 21:50

@gohomeroger1
I don't know but I do miss multi grain start

Omg can you not get that any more? I LOVED that stuff. I have an urge to go to Asda right now and see if they have it 😆

Avatartar · 14/03/2023 21:56

Loved golden nuggets so much and had a massive crush on David Gower who featured on them for a while - swoon -

Riverlee · 14/03/2023 21:59

Start was discontinued in 2018.

pawsbaws · 14/03/2023 22:11

You can still get them, just a different name:

I don't know but I do miss multi grain start. Similar honey coated multi grain ..

Me too. So wish they'd bring it back!

FiddleFigs · 14/03/2023 22:20

Just joining in the Start love - such an excellent cereal.

WontTheRealSlimSheldyPlsFuckoff · 14/03/2023 22:23

I am now absolutely craving a bowl of Golden Nuggets.

You are all bastards. 😆

HelloBunny · 14/03/2023 22:27

Thing is, if they did bring back Start it would be a shite modern interpretation of the original. Low-sugar, etc... We’d all be crying into our Start.

HangerLaneGyratorySystem · 14/03/2023 22:28

are we not talking UK cereals? Lots of these seems like they might be USA or Australian?

Stressedafff · 14/03/2023 22:32

The ones I meant were all bran crunchy oat bakes. Now I’m sad they’ve disappeared!
A PP also mentioned Elevenses bars, fucking hell I miss them too they were stunning

wtf have we done to deserve all these nice products being discontinued

Are all these people suggesting Golden Grahams just doing so to take the piss?

Cherrybaby1 · 14/03/2023 23:06

Honey monster waffles!

TheSilveryPussycat · 14/03/2023 23:09

Oat Krunchies have been my favourite since the 1960s. They disappeared around the time cereals were reformulated with less sugar (no more Branbuds, nor Country Store, the high sugar muesli).

But they have been back for some time. They are now called Oat Crisp and I get them from Sainsbury's. Maybe my palate has changed, but they still taste just as good.

StaySpicy · 14/03/2023 23:15

Start is no more?! Oh my god, I loved that cereal so much. I can still taste it if I think carefully. Fucking delicious.
