I second using an Ad Blocker - I been using 'AdBlock' for years, it's really simple to use. There are a few sites which won't let you use them unless you allow the adverts, in which case you just click on the AdBlock symbol and give the site permission to show adverts either just this once, or every time you visit it.

Is it free? I doesn't seem to be. I am also looking for one for my phone.

Yep, really irritating. Also annoying me is the ads that look like threads mixed in with the other threads

This really annoys me and sometimes they aren’t appropriate at all.

OP: moan about ads

Other posters: use an ad blocker.

OP (and various other posters): ignores helpful advice about (free) adblockers, continues to moan.

As annoying as I find ads, I don’t use a blocker because sites use them to generate income. I don’t pay to use Mumsnet so how are they supposed to continue to pay costs if we don’t pay in some way? Same for journalism. If we want to read it for free we have to suffer ads. That said, ads that take up half the page and can’t be closed down easily are a pain in the butt and stop me using a site. So a balance to be found. I don’t like the ads on here that look like a post on the thread as it derails it and is sometimes confusing. I think MN could do it in a way that wasn’t so disruptive but still get revenue in for them.
