Long story! We brought our house April 2022. From around 5 weeks since we moved in our neighbour complained she could hear us. We said oh sorry sort of thing we’d just moved in putting things up and to be more mindful. Fast forward a year, throughout the year she’s complained multiple times to the housing association( we have shared owernship so only own half) they’ve looked into it we’ve done a sound test that’s passed, they’ve even come to our property to check the doors ect and they are satisfied that it is just normal household noise so they’ve now closed the case. Now since the neighbour has received the letter confirming nothing can be done due to everything being completed she’s now started to bang on the walls slam her doors it’s just getting really petty. I’m so stuck what to do as I can’t live like this she’s scaring my 2yo and I’m just generally upset with having to even think about what I’m doing. My partner works Monday-Friday and I work Saturday and Sunday so there’s hardly anyone over loud music ect. She’s always said it’s been a loud banging noise. My other neighbour who we are more attached to has no problems and cannot hear us at all so I don’t know whether she just is jealous or just has it in for us. We are a young couple (25&27) I have now reported to 101 as harassment so they are now looking into this. I was just wondering if anyone had gone through anything similar and knows how to settle my mind? Thank you

@Guis23 we've followed this and the sound test came back with a pass so HA are saying the walls are fine nothing they can do!

@ImJustMadAboutSaffron It's not a nice feeling is it! This is our first home as a family I just want to enjoy it but from 5 weeks I though oh it will stop but she's getting worse lol

We had this when we moved into our first ever house. Even her bf told us it was jealousy. We had a new little puppy and a new baby and he wouldn’t agree to either with her as he already had two children and she had one of her own.

She used to call the rspca on us and everything. RSPCA actually twigged as it was always the exact same day every month. Silly things too which where totally wrong like our dogs kennel was too small for our dog breed and we locked it in the garden… It was a 10 week old puppy toilet training and a kennel big enough for a 6ft man to climb in. Dog lived inside. She failed to tell them it was a puppy made it sound like this huge dog in a tiny cat carrier type thing. RSPCA had a good giggle.

She used to hassle the health visitor when she saw her visiting saying my baby was screaming all the time stopping her sleep. Bedrooms didn’t even touch, and my baby wasn’t a crier either and even if he was he was a newborn they cry.

In our case he dumped her crazy ass problem solved. Our other neighbour who’s bedroom did attach to our sons room said they never heard a peep.

some people just crazy.

What was their criteria to pass I wonder ? It may have been too low.

I mean it in the sense that she's a Middle Aged woman, we're 25 and 27. Sometimes it's like she complains when she sees we're doing well for ourself. Recently just brought a brand new car the day after there was another complaint made.

Where did you bring it?

NicolaKing · 08/03/2023 16:34

@StuartBroadshairband bring what where sorry?

You said you recently brought a brand new car.

So I'm asking where you brought it. If you brought it to her house, no wonder she's upset. If you brought a car to your own house, then she's got no right to be upset.

NicolaKing · 08/03/2023 16:39

@StuartBroadshairband We brought it then parked it outside the front of our house on our driveway. She's next door

@StuartBroadshairband there's no need for being so obtuse. You know what the OP means!

If you're bored maybe go get a life instead of picking OP's spelling and grammar to pieces.

It's a big bug bear of mine. I can cope with a misspelling, but a completely different word is ridiculous - especially when loads of people do the same thing and there is no excuse for it as they don't have the slightest similarity of meaning.

Bring and buy are completely separate things.

NicolaKing · 08/03/2023 17:05

@StuartBroadshairband I'm actually confused at what you're on about? I said I brought a new car then you say where did you bring it? Bring it where? Stop being a knob! I'm not here to be judged on my spelling quite frankly I'm still making sense there's just no need for it.

@StuartBroadshairband did you mean "bugbear"?

@StuartBroadshairband is highlighting that you said brought (as in to bring something to you) rather than bought (as in to buy).

Scarfywarfy · 08/03/2023 17:07

@StuartBroadshairband yes they may be separate words but if it annoys you that much then learn to educate people in a friendlier way.

Instead of getting all giddy and angry up there on your high horse. Come down and make some friends.

The only one who has made a tit of themselves is you! X

You need to be go back to the housing association and report HER for harassment and keep onto the police.

Record her if she comes near your door and put up a video bell if you can.

Mention to both that she is scaring your child.

You need to push back hard otherwise this will continue.

Make a nuisance of yourself to both the HA/police...this has gone on long enough.

The Housing Association are not Headteachers. What exactly do you think they can do about harassment?! That's a police issue

SchoolTripDrama · 08/03/2023 17:48

ShakespearesBlister · 08/03/2023 15:12

Can you not report her to the housing association for harassment seeing as she is trying to curtail your movements and preventing you from enjoying your home?

That's not within the remit of a HA

Kerfuffler · 08/03/2023 17:51

Harassment in this case would be classed as ASB though, wouldn't it?
