Going to Pre school with very greasy hair

Would you?

I've been ill on and off for ages (bad cough, cold, ears blocked etc) the whole house has. I’ve just been getting through the days until it passes.
Dropped Dd this morning after her being on holidays from school.
Currently sat/lay down on the sofa not wanting to move.
I have to pick her up later, which involves going to the classroom inside, seeing other parents etc and the teacher often stops me for a chat. This morning was easier as I dropped her at the front part and escaped 🙈
My hair is long and needs a good wash, but I’m so tired. Would you go to school like this or force yourself to wash it?
Am I gross? 😫

I'd wash it. You'll feel better in yourself probably.

user1473878824 · 23/02/2023 12:05

Wash it, you’ll feel better. Otherwise put a hat on.

Hankunamatata · 23/02/2023 12:05

Have a sleep and put hair up in a bun with some hairspray.

NightIbble · 23/02/2023 12:06

You might feel better if you wash it or if you can't face it wear a hat.

cocksstrideintheevening · 23/02/2023 12:06

I'd wash it because it always makes me feel better, but if not dry shampoo and a bun?

Twoshoesnewshoes · 23/02/2023 12:07

Wear a hat?
and get some dry shampoo for future challenges

hopeishere · 23/02/2023 12:07

Hat?

Or wash it. You'll feel better.

RunTowardsTheLight · 23/02/2023 12:08

I'd put it up in a bun and go.

RachelSq · 23/02/2023 12:08

I’d wash as I really think it makes you feel better.

But from a practical side, if you want want to wash it just pop on a hat.

Viviennemary · 23/02/2023 12:10

Hat or dry shampoo.

Courtorder · 23/02/2023 12:11

I’d wash it purely because I find that the absolute best remedy for your symptoms is a whole bunch of steam. I wouldn’t give a shit about having greasy hair at pick up or drop off though. Wear a hat?

Skinnermarink · 23/02/2023 12:11

Hat if you really can’t bear to wash it, stale greasy hair is stinky.

SpecialK2023 · 23/02/2023 12:12

This is why hats were invented.

Biscuits1011 · 23/02/2023 12:12

Have you got some talc? Pop some on your roots, rub it in, blow dry and brush then tie it up in a bun.. I always do this if it’s needing a wash and I don’t have time

PalmLady · 23/02/2023 12:15

I would. Not as a regular thing but if I were feeling unwell then I wouldn't really care how I looked.

Soapnotshowergel · 23/02/2023 12:17

Another vote for hat. I wore a hat and sunglasses on the school run this morning because I didn't have time to do makeup or sort my hair out!

Seasonofthewitch83 · 23/02/2023 12:24

Meh....my DD nursery always know if I have been to work or worked from home because I either look really smart or like i live in a bus station......I think you would feel better washing your hair but if youc ant manage it, stick it in a bun and go. I promise you they dont care what you look like.

emmathedilemma · 23/02/2023 12:28

Wash it, you always feel better for having clean hair.

LakeTiticaca · 23/02/2023 12:28

Twist into a bun and stick a hat on . I've been out in states where I'm surprised I haven't been arrested for vagrancy, seriously I doubt anyone will take mucb notice, and if they do, it's their problem 😉

35965a · 23/02/2023 12:30

This is why I always have dry shampoo in the house. I have depression and when it gets bad I just can’t wash my hair, sometimes for a week at a time, I can quickly wash my body so the rest of me is clean. Spray in some dry shampoo, scrub it in, brush it and put your hair in a bun and it’s all good. Or a hat! It is true you’ll feel much better once you wash it, though.

Maraudingmarauders · 23/02/2023 12:31

I'd wash it. Nothing makes me feel worse than being poorly and needing a shower. Sit down in the shower if you need to!

Warrensrabbit · 23/02/2023 12:31

Have a nice not shower, it will help you feel less congested as well

CrystalCoco · 23/02/2023 12:32

Hat or put it up in a top-knot.

If you're still really tired and recovering the last thing you need to do is go to the effort of washing your hair just to do a nursery run. Yes, clean hair does feel good but under these circumstances I'd allow myself to do the bare minimum.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 23/02/2023 12:32

If you really can't be arsed washing it just stick some gel on it and put it in a slicked back ponytail. Or zhuzz some dry shampoo/cournflour on it and rub in well.

Gincan · 23/02/2023 12:35

Personally I would have a quick five min shower and then lay on the sofa with an alarm on my phone in case you fall asleep
