He does seem to be very camp doesn't he? I do like his food though, light and simple. without a doubt he has been packaged to sell a lifestyle, what with featuring his dc's all the time. he is kind of an aussie cross between JO and Nigella.
I think alot of his smiles are fake though.

I pronounce yoghurt 'yoh ghurt' too, I think it is an Americanism but most people in Ireland, the US, Aus, in fact everywhere else in the english-speaking world pronounce it like that. Who is right?

Saw it for the first time last week and for a minute or two was convinced it was a spoof but the food looked too good, lol!

I liked him a lot more a few years ago tbh. I think he was a bit more sincere then, he seems quite fake now, quite over designed iyswim.

I don't think he does well on tv at all, he comes across much less poncily (is that a word?) in his books. His food is yum though.

totally agree. only watched him once.

bill filled his little girl's lunchboxes with a mix of white beans, tuna fish with olive oil (i think). All i could think was "Yeah right - that might look healthy but are you telling me they are actually going to eat it?"

Followed by some kind of fruit thing that looked equally unpalatable.

then he walked the smiling girls to school down a sunny hillside.

all i could think was 'yeah right - you do that every day?' i bet his wife had her eyebrows raised in the background somewhere.

I am Australian living in London and this is exactly the type of thing that gives Australians a bad name - he irritates the hell out of me! It's people like him in his perfect sun drenched world with linen trousers and cute children that make people think the whole of Australia is perfect. Granted it does have some nice places (mainly the coast) but what about the drought stricken farms or sun burnt outback??

Ahhh, I love Perfect Bill with his perfect house and perfect children and perfect life. He is gay though, a friend of mine who knows him says he has had several boyfriends (the wife is complicit afaik).

Nettiehay, surely no-one actually believes that the majority of Ozzies live in a Perfect Bill world though? It's like an Australian assuming that all British men have footballers saleries and all British women are WAGS.
