I’ve just been in my usual post 12h shift scroll hole whilst waiting for my bus, and can’t believe what I’ve seen, mentioning of gangs around the South American border kidnapping children, removing their organs and using their bodies to transport cocaine

i feel like I’m going to be sick. How can people be so awful.

sorry just on my own and have no one to talk to about this but it’s shaken me up.

But this stuff actually does happen on the Mexican border… you think it’s a troll?

Itsnotalternateuniverses · 18/02/2023 20:53

Yes I think it's a troll. "South American border", which border? It just reads troll to me.

Why, it’s not against the talk guidelines, I’ve tried really hard to put an appropriate trigger warning on and as flossy says this is real.
it’s just appalling and I needed someone to share the space with. 😣

can’t wait to get home to DD, I’ll be sleeping on her floor tonight

Without meaning to sound flippant, I think your child is pretty safe from Mexican drug cartels.

I’m on mumsnet nearly every day. I didn’t keep watching the video to find out more about it. To be quite honest I wish I’d never seen it.
I’ve been here for nearly a decade, under many different names posting through DV, infertility, maternal mental health issues, the lot. I promise I’m the furthest from a troll going.

How do these children magically survive without their organs?

WeCome1 · 18/02/2023 20:58

The OP meant the border to the south of the USA. Pretty obviously.

NotDavidTennant · 18/02/2023 20:58

How do these children magically survive without their organs?

They don’t. They kill the children, sell the organs and then stuff the bodies with drugs. It’s fairly well documented.

Isahlo · 18/02/2023 20:59

NotDavidTennant · 18/02/2023 20:58

How do these children magically survive without their organs?

They die. That’s what makes it horrendous
children being murdered so their bodies can be filled with drugs.

mynameiscalypso · 18/02/2023 20:59

Sadly there's an awful lot of terrible things that go in the world and exploitation of children/women/vulnerable people. Some of work touches on human trafficking and the stories are horrendous. I get being hormonal and upset by these things and it's important to know the bigger picture of, for example, what goes on in the cocaine trade.

Are you sure?
I’ve googled. Snopes seems to think it’s an urban legend.

How would it be easier to smuggle drugs inside a dead body? Wouldn't transporting a dead child across the border seem, you know, a bit suspicious?

amoobaa · 18/02/2023 21:08

mynameiscalypso · 18/02/2023 20:55

Without meaning to sound flippant, I think your child is pretty safe from Mexican drug cartels.

I think OP might mean that reading about this awful stuff has shaken her up and left her feeling emotional about the vulnerability of her own child. You know… like when something dreadful happens and people say, “go home and hug your children, hold them a little closer, don’t take them for granted. You’ve no idea how lucky you are.” Etc.

I’m fairly sure she knows her child isn’t about to be murdered by Mexican drug cartels.

But if that’s the only reason a person would be moved enough to lay by their kids bed, then…

They make the children look like they’re sleeping.

They’ll cover them with blankets and drive across the checkpoints.

mumsnet is waaay too delicate for any realities,TW or not!!

Exactly- I just love her, and because I’m on my second of 3, 12 hour shifts I’ve not seen her awake since Thursday teatime, I’m back at work again tomorrow morning and won’t see her again awake properly until Monday breakfast. It just makes you realise how fragile everything is, and how things can be taken in an instance.
my heart hurts for the poor people this has affected too. 😣

Bit of an overreaction, no?

ThatshallotBaby · 18/02/2023 21:13

@Isahlo
I think terrible things happen to children. But I don’t think this is true. I understand how you feel about your daughter, and the fragility of life.
I hope you are ok. Flowers
