To want to find a realistic doll for dd that isn’t a reborn?

I am trying to find dd a realistic doll for her birthday. All that is coming up in my searches is reborn dolls (which I do not want!)

AIBU to want to find a doll that isn’t a reborn?

Does anyone’s dc have a realistic doll that you’d recommend? If you have a link that would be even better!

Tiny Treasures dolls from Argos. In the 'style' of those reborn ones but much more toy like and absolutely adorable.

Here's what the Tiny Treasures look like. You can get loads of cute little outfits and accessories too.

Miniland dolls are our favourites, they come in different sizes and have a lovely vanilla smell, you can often find them cheap on Amazon.

purplejungle · 18/02/2023 01:33

Miniland have diverse options and are anatomically correct

If you google "La newborn baby doll" they sell them in a few places including Amazon and smyths toys.

Thepumpkinpatch1 · 18/02/2023 11:56

Thank you! I’ll look into those!

Tiny treasures are adorable. They have a new born scent and weighted like a newborn! My daughter has a collection

Needmorelego · 18/02/2023 12:01

@MissMaple82 we have....9 of them 🤣

Number1number2 · 18/02/2023 12:04

Another vote for miniland. Small, proportionally and anatomically correct (no creepy enormous blinking eyes!), diverse 👍

Jumping on this thread, id like a soft sequezzy/cuddly doll for my almost 1 year old

The Spanish brand ASI have beautiful baby dolls, they are available here on but expensive as they are imported.

My dds loved them

Sorry no idea what happened there!

We bought one for my DD in Spain, it's beautiful. Realistic but not creepy. She's 18 and still has it!!

Puddlelane123 · 18/02/2023 13:05

Are the Tiny Treasures dolls soft bodied? I can’t make out from the pictures.

My DD had a baby Stella when she was younger, she loved it.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

None have been quite what I’m looking for but please keep them coming!

Sorry, looking at the 'our stockists' page which is no longer working it seems like they might not be in business now. I got mine on amazon, but can't see any there now with a cursory look :/

Needmorelego · 18/02/2023 14:15

@Puddlelane123 yes Tiny Treasures are soft bodied. They are also weighted in a way to feel like a real baby and when you first get one they smell like baby powder (that wears off sadly 😕).
I have been known to walk around with one on my shoulder patting it's little bottom 🤣

Countmeout · 18/02/2023 14:36

AntonioJuan is the Spanish brand I think. Some beautiful dolls but quite spendy. I have not seen them for sale here. Readily available in Spain.

I got my daughter a 'My first Baby Annabell' for her first birthday. I wanted a doll she wouldn't grow out of too quickly. It's 36cm I think and at 5 it's still her favourite doll even though she has a couple of larger dolls too.

Countmeout · 18/02/2023 14:45

dollsanddolls.com/en/catalogsearch/result/index/?manufacturer=201&p=4&q=Baby+doll

this is the type of thing but this appears to be a Spanish shop and would incur customs.
Amazon seems to have some. They are lovely in the flesh. Pictures probably don’t do them justice.
