Interflora Valentines Day

AIBU to think Interflora (or any other delivery service) flowers for Valentines day is a cop out?

Absolutely zero effort involved in doing a few clicks on your phone/laptop.

A bunch picked up from a supermarket or florist would be 10x more thoughtful surely?

Alternatively one has been planned in advance, browsed through the choices of bouquets, written a note, and is a surprise on the day. The other is a hastily bought bunch on the way home from work as they forgot and all is left is wilted carnations.

No, I think it’s actually quite nice for a delivery to come and surprise you at home or work. Some people will say it’s zero effort picking up a bunch of flowers in sainsbury’s whilst picking up Dylan. I’d just be appreciative of the flowers.

FFS. I sometimes wonder if I’m on another planet to many of the posters here.
Why the fuck does it matter where the flowers came from? Flowers are a generic, uninspired valentines gift. Not saying that’s a bad thing (I love flowers), but they don’t suddenly become thoughtful and exciting because they came from a supermarket.

I'd be thrilled with an interflora delivery.....I was thrilled with the supermarket roses my husband picked up for me last night, because it's just a nice thing for someone to do isn't it?

I've never been big on VD, but flowers from interflora is not no effort. You still have to choose, order, and pay. Much like you would anywhere else.

i think unless the giver has hand grown the flowers from seedlings, personally transported them from Kew Gardens in a solid gold carriage and delivered them him/herself accompanied by a fanfare of angels and three diamond rings, it’s simply not enough effort.

This. Does buying gift on amazon show more effort than flowers delivery? Few clicks in both cases. As long as person who gets them is happy (maybe OP got interflora delivery and is disappointed in her husband?).

I love delivery flowers not that I do valentines day but when we did it was better getting them at the door than a bouquet from morrisons. I mean the neighbours saw and everything 😃

Exactly, I'm waiting for the complainers who only got supermarket flowers, how lazy of him not to order from a florist three weeks ago, then, the very worst, he gave her forecourt flowers, that'll be a definite LTB I presume.

This. I have no one to buy flowers for me and I'd be really touched if someone did this.

I don't think it matters where the flowers come from, it's the thought that counts. My DH couldn't get any lilies (my favourite) so he bought me a selection of cheeses instead. 😃
