To want to buy another C3 Picasso??

Mine is really on its last legs having done 160k miles. I have about 8k to buy a new car. I like my c3 Picasso- it has a high driving position, its economical, quite fun to drive and holds plenty of horse feed and shopping in the back 😀.

Dh and dd3 are genuinely horrified that I'm going to get another one because they think it is the most frumpy, boring car and that I could get something far more sporty looking.

AIBU??

I loved my old Picasso, I still miss it now but I’m not a fan of the new shape, it’s not as big.
My kids hated it too, but I don’t care what they think 🤣

Meceme · 04/02/2023 09:31

We have a C3 Picasso. It's a great work horse, does everything we need it to.
Previously we had a car through work which changed every two years so we've had a lot of cars! When we retired (early) we had to buy a car ourselves for the first time and unanimously went for the Picasso...Best of all the cars we've tried!

Meceme · 04/02/2023 09:31

I agree the old shape was better though.

Fairydustandsparklylights · 04/02/2023 09:32

C4 Picasso for me. Best car ever! It’s very much a mum car though. Not stylish at all.

What was the old shape? Mine is a 60 numberplate

Your family are right 😁 (IMO) but unless it's their money paying for it, they don't really get a say!

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 04/02/2023 09:34

You like what you like. It is an ugly old fashioned car though. Have you looked at Kia? 7 year warranty make them such a great buy and they look good too

Not sure I'd get anything decent in my budget

Get the car you like driving. We drive Ford's the (young adult kids) make fun of our boring car yet are happy enough when I can come collect them and their belongings in my "boring car"

CrotchetyQuaver · 04/02/2023 09:45

If you're happy with it, and it has coped well with the abuse that comes from having a horsey lifestyle (car washes round here will charge extra for 'horsey' cars as they're usually so filthy inside and out) Then get another.

TheBirdintheCave · 04/02/2023 09:55

We have one for sale if you live near Epsom 😂

I don't! What's the mileage though?

Yanbu. I had one of the original Picassos. It's the only car I've ever loved. It was great to drive and had good driver visibility.

Had my new car for 7 years and still don't like anything about it. It's economical and that's it. Wanted a Yeti but couldn't quite stretch to it.

Yes it has. I even drive it up to the stables in the summer over rutted fields and it's fine

I should get a small 4 x 4 really but they are expensive to buy and to run.

Yes! I'd quite like a Yeti. I love the driving position and visibility in the picasso

I've had this one for 8 years. It needed the clutch replacing but apart from that it's had no problems. And I beast my cars.

If you like a Yeti look at a Kia Soul

TheLastDreamOfTheOak · 04/02/2023 10:19

Get the car you like driving. Who cares what it looks like? The best car I ever had was the old egg shaped Ford Ka. I still miss it and exh wrote it off 14 years ago!

I'm on my third Citroen. They've all been fantastic.

If it makes you happy, go for it. Nothing wrong exploring elsewhere though.

Oh I absolutely agree! Just can't find anything as suitable in my budget.

Could try for a used Mazda CX-3 or a relatively new renault captur

Streamside · 04/02/2023 11:35

Why not try the new aircross one. I've the same car as you with 150k on the clock, a new starter and new battery is the only work it ever required.Fold the seats down and it functions like a van, they're an amazing workhorse.
I paid for mine with 4 yrs finance and have had 4 yrs of effectively driving it for free.
Visibility is amazing and it does 55mpg, what's not to like.

I can't help you but it's so good to see so many car threads at the moment. I wish mumsent would bring back the car topic section so they are easier to find.

How can I ask them?
