To want to buy another C3 Picasso??

Mine is really on its last legs having done 160k miles. I have about 8k to buy a new car. I like my c3 Picasso- it has a high driving position, its economical, quite fun to drive and holds plenty of horse feed and shopping in the back 😀.

Dh and dd3 are genuinely horrified that I'm going to get another one because they think it is the most frumpy, boring car and that I could get something far more sporty looking.

AIBU??

Why not try the new aircross one. I've the same car as you with 150k on the clock, a new starter and new battery is the only work it ever required.Fold the seats down and it functions like a van, they're an amazing workhorse.
I paid for mine with 4 yrs finance and have had 4 yrs of effectively driving it for free.
Visibility is amazing and it does 55mpg, what's not to like.

Love the new aircross but I like to buy outright so cannot afford.

Love my C3 picasso for all the same reasons as you, driving position, loads of space for horse feed, prams etc. One of my friends told me when I bought it that it's such a mum car it should have a built in car seat Grin

What work needs doing to your current car?

Dillydollydingdong · 04/02/2023 12:02

I'm currently on my second C3 Picasso. Good vision, seat is comfortably high, big boot, and I like the bright blue colour. When my first one gave up, I got a Peugeot 108 but soon went back to the Picasso.

A few advisories. It'll keep going for another 6 months but I'll have the money in 3 months and if I don't buy a new car with it it will get sucked into the mortgage. I mean it's done 160k miles and is 13 years old,it won't last forever

Unless the bodywork is crumbling beyond rescue, everything is replaceable including the engine. If you wanted to keep it on the road.

They've been on motability deals so you should be able to pick up a low mileage one quite easily.
That's one of the reasons my children won't drive mine, most drivers if them are elderly apparently.

Sure. But it's going to start costing more and more to maintain and replace things. I could get one 6 years younger with at least 100k less miles.

Elderly retired teachers or childminders according to dd3. I think that's nice, not an insult!

I have a VW sharan. It’s hideous but it does the job 100 times better than a sportier newer model!

Ive stopped caring what other people think though!

Do that then, ignore the fam if it's your money.

My dh has just replaced his c4 with a newer c4. He loves it, can transport anything and anyone anywhere and fit our giant dog, the dc and their friends and all the associate junk that travels with. And very good mpg!
