Just that really. I am struggling with getting mone to bed and it often end up being 9:30 or later which is just too late. Just wondered what is done in other homes?

They go up at 8pm but probably don't settle into bed until 9pm. Who knows when they finally drift off to sleep!

Kidsaregrim · 03/02/2023 20:19

9.30 and her brother who is 18m older goes to bed at 10pm. Moves to 10 & 11 on weekends

both awake by 7.30 during the week and 8.30-09.00 weekends

Meredusoleil · 03/02/2023 20:19

8-8.30pm.

Fifilafrog · 03/02/2023 20:19

Same! She just never gets tired!! 😩

following and sending strength 😴

Notimeforaname · 03/02/2023 20:21

At that age it was 9 - 9.30 for me.

OverProtectiveMumOfPFB · 03/02/2023 20:28

Aim for 830, has to be up at 6:15. It's a struggle, especially as now has 2 clubs finishing at 8 and one new one starting at 8 😱She's always complaining she's tired and in the next breath saying it's not fair her friends can stay up til 10.

BelleSauvage9 · 03/02/2023 20:29

Goes to bed at 9. Tends to read until 9:30, sometimes later

BelleSauvage9 · 03/02/2023 20:29

(And she gets up in the morning around 7)

Xrays · 03/02/2023 20:36

Goes up to bed about 8.30pm but usually reads for about half an hour. I give a kiss and goodnight when I go up around 9pm to take my make up off etc.

mnahmnah · 03/02/2023 20:37

Bed at 9.00, read until 9.30. He is pushing it though because his friends go at 10.00, apparently!

Sarah180818 · 03/02/2023 20:37

My DD is in year 7. She goes up at 7 to watch TV or read. Lights out at 9

elQuintoConyo · 03/02/2023 20:38

How old is Y6? 11?

10pm school night, 10:30-11 Fri/Sat.

Tues+Thurs is a club 6-8pm, gets home around 8:30 then dinner and a shower.

We're very near the school, so up at 8/8:15 for 9 o'clock start.

Anotherusernamethisweek · 03/02/2023 20:39

I try to get mine into bed by 9pm. Very resistant though

ArtixLynx · 03/02/2023 20:40

8pm, lights off by 8.30

dicdicnurse · 03/02/2023 20:41

Try to get her up to her room for 9pm then lights out at 9.30. On the weekend it's much later! (Later than me sometimes)

CurlyTop1980 · 03/02/2023 20:42

Up at 8.20. 9pm bed

OhmygodDont · 03/02/2023 20:42

We have a rather all Children upstairs 7:30pm. They can watch tv/be on their tablets till 8:30pm after that’s it’s sleep or reading/quite colouring.

Obviously this is relaxed at times such as weekends, sports clubs or if we are watching a movie together but if everyone is off doing whatever generally just clogging up the downstairs on a week night and being noisy it’s the 7:30 rule.

Mariposista · 03/02/2023 20:43

Why id it 'just too late'? because they are obviously tired and this is affecting their behaviour (YANBU) or because you want shot of them (YABU)

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 03/02/2023 20:43

8pm

This is what makes a difference- mine
were at school at 7.45am at that age so
went to bed earlier (by choice). Breakfast club from nursery is ingrained so they always get to school very early even at secondary.

Leggingslife · 03/02/2023 20:51

8pm, lights out by 830pm. NHS suggest children of this age have 10 hours of sleep so wakes up around 630-7am.

Ilovethewild · 03/02/2023 20:53

School nights- upstairs for 8-8.20, storey reading til 9.30, then lights out
weekend- more relaxed except if football as it’s an eye game 8.30 on pitch! So often just Saturday night is late (around 9 upstairs, but can be later)

does complain others stay up later but also complains others have phones 😂

Matilda1981 · 03/02/2023 20:53

Mine goes to bed at 9 during the week, normally asleep pretty quickly, she gets up at around 7am.

Weekends tend to be a bit later but to be fair she quite likes her sleep and if she’s tired will just take herself off to bed early!

Serena1977 · 03/02/2023 20:55

School nights means no screens from 8pm, lights out 9pm

Fri and Sat no screens from 9pm, lights out 10pm

IhearyouClemFandango · 03/02/2023 20:56

2030 on weeknights
