Having just read the article now, guard’s aren’t been made to hold ‘her’ hand and ‘she’ hasn’t been given nappies or puree food. These have been asked for but not provided.

It all sounds ridiculous. I work with pre-schoolers, and we push them for independence. If they have teeth they don't get pureed food. If they are ready we toilet train. If they come with a bottle we transfer to a cup. Why is an able-bodied adult male being treated with less dignity than a three year old?

Oh yes you're right. They are taking "her" demands seriously and considering how to fulfill them but in the meantime they have given "her" a dummy.

It still begs the question as to why a sexual fetish is being accommodated by the prison service.

That did not happen when I was a prison officer I can tell you - men's prison. It's bollocks. Nobody would have stuffed a dummy in his mouth and held his hand. The tabloids do print some absolute rubbish.

And in Canada a CSA survivor was threatened with disciplinary action if she refused to monitor a trans identified prisoner on suicide watch even though he was masturbating in his cell. The female prison officer suggested it would be more appropriate for a male officer to monitor the prisoner. I can't help but wonder if the prisoner would have been quite as enthusiastic to masturbate in front of a male prison guard.

I hope you don’t mind OP. I am adding this link for those who believe there is nothing wrong with a male being in a female prison if isolated.

They usually forget the impact on female prison and mental institution staff.

While this is from Canada, there is no reason that something similar couldn’t happen here.

This woman won her case for compensation for her PTSD retrauma.

TL:DR

The female prison officer alerted her manager she suffered sexual abuse and could not watch a male prison on suicide watch.

Manager asked her to fill in but she ended up doing a full shift.

Prisoner knew a woman was watching. Prisoner masturbated while officer had to watch and watch while male went to toilet too.

Court awarded her damages due to retraumatisation.

What happens when some perverted dude says he identifies as a six year old and wants to be accommodated in primary school with other children. If you tolerate this, then your children will be next. It will happen and there’s nothing you’ll be able to do about it.
