The price of drinks in bars/ pubs

How much are drinks where you live?

I went out on Friday to a pub nearish a city center. A non-alcoholic beer and can of Cola came to £9.50. Alcoholic drinks were a few pound more.

Is this normal now? Seems a bit steep to me!

£6:50 gin and tonic, £11:00 glass of wine

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 22/01/2023 17:30

2.80 a pint!

Metabigot · 22/01/2023 17:31

Got a bottle of palatable wine in a S London pub for £24 which was surprisingly reasonable. I've paid £12 for a large glass before so sharing a bottle is the way forward

About right atm. Weekend away we were in a very nice place , pint & sugar free drink nearly a tenner. It is what it is. You can’t beat Spoons for a cheap night, but it’s not everyone’s spot

sittingonacornflake · 22/01/2023 17:32

@Fooshufflewickjbannanapants wow where are you?!

LottoLaura · 22/01/2023 17:33

£1.50 for a pint of soda water and lime
£4-£5 a pint of regular draft beer
£11-£15 medium glass of wine
£6-£7 gin and tonic/spirit and mixer

WineDup · 22/01/2023 17:33

Cocktails about £6
Wine around £4-£6 for a glass

XenoBitch · 22/01/2023 17:34

£4.10 for a pint of craft cider/beer.

LadyWithLapdog · 22/01/2023 17:34

About £6 a pint and £7.50 glass of wine (London pub).

Beneficialchampion2 · 22/01/2023 17:36

The town in which I live:

Beer is around £2.50-3 a pint
Wine £3-4 a large glass
Double spirit and mixer around £4.50

Pretty reaonable

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 22/01/2023 17:46

@sittingonacornflake Yorkshire, that's for a pint of bitter, I think it's £3.20 for lager but I'm not a lager drinker 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sirzy · 22/01/2023 17:48

Last night I got a pint of cider and pint of real ale for £7.90

JorisBonson · 22/01/2023 17:49

I paid £7.20 for a pint in a zone 2 pub a few weeks ago 🤯

Do you live in 2008?

FettleOfKish · 22/01/2023 17:50

Granted it was a nice bar with table service, not a pub, but £15.20 on Friday night for a pint of Peroni and a large red wine. Jersey.

Bairnsmum05 · 22/01/2023 17:51

2 spirits and mixers and 2 pints of lager, £14.... cracking wee old man's pub in Glasgow.

FluentlyExasperatedMadam · 22/01/2023 17:51

You have to pick where's the best place with cheapest drinks. I can get 3 double gin and lemonade for less than £9 in our city centre

Grumpybutfunny · 22/01/2023 17:54

£4.50 for a pint of draft or £5.50 for a bottle of speciality ales
Cocktails are largely BOGOF at about £12 "each"
G&T is around £10 a glass

Student city Slug and Lettuce prices can get it a lot cheaper in spoons or local bars

HellcatSpangledShalalala · 22/01/2023 17:54

£7 double gin
£4-4.50 pint
£8 large glass of Pinot

Thats average for most of the pubs here, cheaper if we go to spoons or the social club, more in a bar.

2chocolateoranges · 22/01/2023 17:55

We went into town last year, 2 lagers and 2 vodka and 2 can of Coke was £23!

our local pubs range from £6.50- £8.50 for a lager and a vodka and a can of Coke.

I worked in hospitality for many years in our local are, 21 years ago and a pint was £2.20 and a vodka Diet Coke was £2.50 when I left 3 years ago a pint was £4.30 and a vodka Diet Coke was £3.20

These are the prices in our local social club, I wish our pubs were that cheap too!

kitsuneghost · 22/01/2023 17:58

We are about £10 for 2 pints at our local. Was at Wembley arena last night and it was £7.95 a pint.

adidasclassicsanddance · 22/01/2023 18:01

Usually about £3.70 for lager/John Smith's, £4-£4.50 for a draft beer and £6-7 for a large glass of wine.

Mushroo · 22/01/2023 18:06

Really ranges! A nice bar would be £5/6 a pint and a large glass of wine £8+

But went to the local old man pub the other week and got 2 pints and a bottle of wine for £18 😂

AuntieMarys · 22/01/2023 18:13

Decent wine about £27 a bottle
Beer about £6
