To be horrified at Delivery driver drug driving

So, after a mad day (small operation for DH) we ordered burger and pizza garlic bread to be delivered as no one wants to cook.
opened the door to delivery driver and hall and lounged filled with smell of weed.
(clutches pearls 😱)
i mean I know that stuff lingers but he MUST have smoked it recently to smell that strongly. Even the pizza box and bag smelled of it.
what would you do?!
DH said ‘shouldn’t we tell someone’ I mean who?! The guy that delivered (40’s) could be boss for all we know!
also, it’s a good take out and only about 3 people deliver to us!
i mean each to their own, but drug driving is a no from me. Or is this the world now, everyone’s taking it? I have no idea if I am being unreasonable to be horrified!
will probably do nothing but intrigued if I’m now just old school!

How do you know he’s a drug dealer? I mean gross he’s smoking pot etc but doesn’t mean he’s a dealer.

Given it is a criminal offence the "who" part of your question would be the police.

Weed absolutely stinks and clings to clothing
fir all you know could of been in house delivering where they were smoking

I work for one of the utilities in and out houses all day
I have had to go home and get changed more than once

If you grass, I suppose that, in future, you will have to recruit your takeaway delivery people from that huge pool of suited graduates with silky smooth accents who are prepared to deliver your junk food in the rain and for a few quid an hour................

I hate the idea of anyone drug driving, and would call the police to report.

Agree that the smell is gross. When I lived in south London I rarely got through a single day without smelling it, now in the Home Counties it is rarer but I would still say at least once a week I get a whiff. I don’t think there’s anything “to be done” about this though, as you say, if you cared that much vote with your feet and either don’t use the takeaway again, or collect it. The police won’t do anything.

Anyone with any conscience would report someone they strongly suspected was drink or drunk driving in a heartbeat. If they are innocent then no harm done. Guilty they deserve everything they get.

as I said I’ll do nothing, the drug taking doesn’t bother me but the drug driving really does. Still I have no proof so won’t waste police’s time or anything like that!
ive been around the smell before as some responders have said and know it’s strong but this was blow of off your toes strong! Permeated several room and door was open less than 20 seconds!

the moral dilemma of a good dirty burger! 🤣

Come off it. 😂 he either had pockets full of skunk, which reeks, or he’d been smoking it recently, or more likely: both.

Drug driving is not cool. Report him.

Maybe he's not drug driving but drug delivering. It's a great business model for an independent 'restaurant '. I know of 2 local takeaways and a car wash that on the face of it can't be making money.....but they are. They do actually sell food and wash cars too btw. Thats how they launder their money. Now just what other services are they offering? 🤔

That’s my experience people could actually smell it on me after working in houses where people were smoking it

I have a family member that smokes it, if I’ve been to their house, everything stinks for ages. A bag that’s been in the house an hour can still smell when I take it out the cupboard a week later so I wouldn’t be completely sure that he had been smoking it before driving.

You obviously report this criminal offence that causes someone who is driving for a living to drive dangerously. I wonder if all the people who think it’s perfectly acceptable would feel the same way if their family member died as a result?

I knew a guy who worked at a pizza take away. He said that some of the delivery drivers delivered weed while working.

To be horrified sounds a bit naive. I don't smoke but it's only a bit of weed. There are much worse things to worry about.

Honestly some people actually get off on 'policing' others. I see it all the time from the same type of people. It'd be great to feel sorry for them for lacking anything else to do in life were it not that they actively are a nuisance to others.
