To ask who has covid right now

BumblePan · 24/12/2022 23:08

As the title says, who has covid right now?

I'm on day 5. I won't be visiting family tomorrow and I'll be happy to rest up.
Looking for some solidarity.... I don't know anyone with covid right now.
Do you have any symptoms? I have a pain in my chest, congestion and a headache, which only started today.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 24/12/2022 23:13

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 24/12/2022 23:13

Me. Two bloody weeks and I still feel crap. Christmas cancelled here.

Numbersarefun · 24/12/2022 23:14

Me! Don’t feel particularly ill, just tired.

fucketyfuckwit · 24/12/2022 23:15

Me!

I have a sore throat and am achey.

Tested positive yesterday.

Otherwise not too bad so far but will see how it progresses.

Hope you feel better soon OP

silentpool · 24/12/2022 23:15

Me. Feels like a light cold. Only tested because I lost the ability to taste yesterday.

Turquoisesea · 24/12/2022 23:16

My DH has it as do several of our neighbours after a night out altogether recently! I also know lots of other people who have it at the moment. Elderly in laws were due for Christmas Day but now cancelled, it’s rubbish!

GuinnessLover · 24/12/2022 23:17

I have a virus that's not covid, but I feel worse than I did when I had covid, so acting in the same manner and sadly staying home on my own this year. My parents are going to take my 4yo for a bit

nobodygirl2023 · 24/12/2022 23:18

Had it all week. Tested negative today just as DH got positive so family plans cancelled for tomorrow and boxing day. Been feeling very upset about it but my 2 year old is none the wiser so focus on all her.

Hope you manage to have a nice time!

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 24/12/2022 23:19

I've Just had it

GreatBigBeautifulTommorow · 24/12/2022 23:21

I tested positive 10 days ago and still feel terrible.

get well soon @BumblePan

GreatBigBeautifulTommorow · 24/12/2022 23:24

Re symptoms initially heavy cold and sore throat, lost taste all together for 3 days.
progressed into sinus infection, chest infection, conjunctivitis and the cough oh my god the cough ☹️
also lost voice!

ISawFreeShips · 24/12/2022 23:30

2.5 weeks in and slowly getting over it. DH and I are still shattered, Christmas is pretty minimal this year. I've been missing my sense of smell but it's starting to come back a bit.

Feel better soon all.

Desiredeffect · 24/12/2022 23:35

Me day 7 and still feel like crap

GeorgiaGirl52 · 24/12/2022 23:40

Tested positive last Friday. Got Paxovid prescribed from my doctor because I am high-risk. Took it for six days. Christmas is usually at my house but cancelled this year. This past week have had: electricity out for seven hours, furnace died and had to get a person in on Christmas Eve, oven died so cooking on the cooktop and using slow cooker, gas fire died so have a small electric heater burning money.
Grandson has gone to his girlfriend's family Christmas Eve party and I am cuddled up with the dogs.
FYI: My covid symptoms started with sore throat, cough, drainage, and utter exhaustion - slept 22 hours on Monday. Still tired, no appetite for anything except cocoa.

countbackfromten · 24/12/2022 23:40

tested positive today. Feeling pretty rubbish but still so much better than when I had it in the first wave. Glad to have had the vaccines.

Smidge001 · 24/12/2022 23:41

Me! Tested positive on Tuesday after feeling a bit crap for a couple of days. Still testing positive today. Christmas has been postponed. Symptoms for me were headache, bodyaches and feeling tired. Got a bit of a cough but not too bad. V teary but don't know if that is peri, (though I thought the hrt was supposed to help) the fact that I'm under the weather or just some sort of mid life crisis as I realise my only holiday of the year is disappearing before my eyes and I'm still exhausted and can't bear the thought of going back to work next week when I haven't even been able to do anything on my holiday. Xmas Sad

BumblePan · 24/12/2022 23:42

I wasn't expecting so many responses.
I'm sorry to hear so many of you have it. It's crap at this time of year, but I've accepted that christmas will be low key.

I hope everybody is feeling okay tomorrow

DS (18)and DH have it. I'm not feeling great either. We were due to visit family tomorrow. There were going to be 16 of us. We are all disappointed but DS particularly was looking forward to it as he rarely meets up.with the whole extended family

Our boiler has also tripped our electrical circuits this evening so no hot water or heating for the moment. It has done this several times over the last year. Each time we call an electrician and think it is fixed and it happens again. W have had 5 different electricians and plumbing engineers out over a year , all of whom had different ideas about what is causing it.

Sometimes it comes back up in 24 hrs without anyone fixing it but more often we've had no water or heating for a few days.

This is already not a good Christmas for us this year.

WelshDaffodil · 25/12/2022 00:12

Me....Day 2 today. DP has avoided so far, I'm holed up in the spare room for Christmas. Looked at Twitter earlier, many on there too. I'm ok, but v hot, tired but can't drop off. Feel better soon everyone

Wrongsideofpennines · 25/12/2022 00:23

Me. Tested positive on Wednesday. Very faint line still today. Had a cough but that was about a week before I tested positive. And then had horrendous nausea. Awful vomiting Thursday and feeling properly drained, but picked up a bit today, just exhausted.

BestIsWest · 25/12/2022 00:26

Two weeks in. Testing negative now but totally wiped out.

user1480097724 · 25/12/2022 00:29

Me. Couldn't sleep 2 nights ago then realised I couldn't smell or taste a thing. Have had a cough for 10 days which I assumed was just a cough ... tested positive at 4a as was wide awake. DCs are negative. I've got a bit of a sore throat, achey head/sinuses on and off, insomnia (not like me at all) and a bit of a dodgy tummy.

Get well soon, everyone xxx

DrunkenKoala · 25/12/2022 00:32

Started coughing last Sunday and rested positive on the Monday. Spent Tuesday and Wednesday in bed with a temp, sore throat, blocked ears and feeling achy and heavy. Thursday and now Friday we’re a bit better but still spent a lot of time in bed. Today I’ve showered and got dressed and it did make me feel a lot better. DD then tested positive on Thurs (symptoms started Weds) so we’re definitely not mixing tomorrow and we’ve decided to do an easy dinner, we’re doing spaghetti Bol in slow cooker with pre-cut frozen veg. All our Christmas meats are in the freezer and we’ve pencilled in to do Christmas dinner in February.

Untitledsquatboulder · 25/12/2022 00:37

Fingers crossed not me. Ds1 and I had it Christmas 2020, and ds2 Christmas 2021 so we have a lot of experience into Christmas plans going awry (in 2020 we had all the Christmas Dinner food at ours so the wider family was left scrabbling around at the last minute, last year I had to dig the emergency roast out of the freezer)
