Not mine but ones I’ve been involved in

Someone gave a box of free chocolates they’d got at a hotel.

Someone bought a baby book and toy for someone who was maybe 4 or 5 months pregnant, she promptly threw it in the bin because she didn’t want to jinx anything by buying so early. I get it but it didn’t need the dramatics and she could have just donated it.

A sex toy. There was an HR meeting.

Best one:
A Mum and Baby pamper basket- I was 8 and a half months pregnant at the time so it was very welcome. It was really nice stuff as well and way over budget. I still don't know who gave it to me.

Worst one:
Alcohol. I don't drink and the giver knew this.

I was given a microwaveable hand warmer one year and absolutely loved it. It was perfect for our ice box of an office.

Have told this before but my worst was the year someone stole my SS gift 😱

We had a well planned routine for SS due to being shift workers which meant we had a date gifts had to be brought into work and they were stored in a cupboard in the staff room. You would tick a list in thee we’d office (different room) when you drew a name and when you dropped off the gift you bought. Lastly, you ticked when you got your gift.

Anyway, when I brought in my SS gift, I saw one in the cupboard with my name on, in a distinctive bag, and thought it looked nice. Went on a week’s leave with my next shift being Christmas Eve night shift; came in and, when the girl in charge handed out gifts before we went home Christmas morning there wasn’t one for me - someone had taken it from the cupboard 😱😱 never did get to the bottom of who took it nor did I get my gift!!

I refused to do it again after that. And they changed where gifts were stored so no more could disappear
