... does that apply to all porn?... even softcore topless or nude photos (the type that used to be in lads mags)? Or is it reserved for hardcore stuff.

Firstly, men aren’t more visual. So tiring that this is the old trope.

Secondly, for me, yes, no porn at all. It’s surprising the calibre of male you end up attracting when you actually set decent standards and boundaries for yourself.

It’s ridiculously degrading to MEN to suggest they’re all a bunch of idiotic morons who have zero morals or critical thinking skills.

"Written/anime porn is also different as it is fiction, and doesn't feature actual humans"

As far as I know, anime porn, even though it doesn't contain real humans, can still be illegal if the characters appear to be children. Many men argue porn such as computer generated images which doesn't feature actual humans should still be legal but the law takes a different view (rightfully in my opinion) that society itself is harmed by the very existence of such stuff. It is considered that by being allowed to use such material, the users themselves are more likely to commit crimes of a sexual nature against children. One might ask why we take this step for porn featuring children but not porn featuring simlated rape or actual assault of women who happen to be older?

I am not of the view all porn should be illegal even though I concur with what most critics here have said but I would be in favour of draconian laws on what is acceptable. Whether or not we could put the genie back in the bottle, considering what is already out there, is another matter. The answer may lie not in what porn is allowed but campaigns to educate on what porn does, to both the participants and the consumers.

A sex toy is an inanimate object.
Porn features real human beings.

I think anyone who had issues with sex toys was immature and probably had issues with women wanking generally.

Anyone who has issues with porn (filmed/photographed) humans is completely reasonable as 1) you can't rule out the humans have been harmed making the porn and 2) it's a standard human reaction to feel jealous/threatened by your partner being sexually attracted to someone else.

Written/anime porn is also different as it is fiction, and doesn't feature actual humans.

What is the issue with some women not wanting to be involved with a man who watches porn? Porn isn't a harmless activity. Pro porn posters know that which is why we are getting this bullshit false equivalence with vibrators and erotic fiction

Practically any product can be produced by exploiting people!

Those mangoes & avocados in the shop? Picked by young children in exchange for some food.

Those designer trainers or jeans? Made in a South Asian sweat shops by those paid $1 a day for 13 hours of work.

That HD wide-screen TV from China? Made by prisoners held for 10 years on trumped up false political grounds. People complain about USA having 3-4 million in jail; well China has up to 20 million prisoners many of whom work for zero wages in Chinese factories or mines etc, to produce goods for western consumers.

Okay porn 'could' be more visible exploitation, but it happens every where. Due to world population increase, there are now more slaves than ever before. UN numbers sat it'll soon reach a billion in numbers.
Bloody sad but on an individual basis not a lot we can do about it.
So do we clutch pearls and agonise over over the tiniest things we can do little to control over?
No we move on and hopefully try and be good people on a human level.
Shit happens and I am certain most of the porn I watch no one is being exploited.
And what about all those old Hollywood films where those young girls on screen had to perform sex acts on the casting couch to be even considered to get on camera? We still watch them - especially at Christmas! FFS don't judge us viewers & judge ones doing the exploitation, and hound them instead. Sure I can find a Home Office number for you to call and volunteer to help on 🙄

So don't try your guilt trip antics on me & others please.

• UN number stats say they'll be soon a billion slaves or exploited workers world wide.

Haha! OK I'm sorry I made you feel guilty by making you face up to the fact that what you think is "sexy fun" might actually be paid rape.
Or that when those porn actresses are hit/spat on/hair pulled/anal with no lube, they might actually feel the same pain you would.

Watch "hot girls wanted" and see how you feel then.

Mens minds work differently to women’s minds. Men are very visual and like visual stimulation sexually, that’s enough for a man to get his kicks

where does this narrative come from? Plenty of women are visual, I certainly am. Unfortunately the offering out there in the general public is rather low!

lifeinthehills · 12/12/2022 09:00

No porn at all here. I don't want to be with someone who thinks it's okay to treat women as consumable goods/objects.
