So...do you have your eye on anything that you are hoping will be on offer during Black Friday?
I'm hoping for a Nespresso machine 😎

BosaNova · 18/11/2022 21:36

Next Friday. Although Amazon have started already

JoelyJoe · 18/11/2022 21:42

Not sure if it will be a Black Friday purchase, as a lot of the "discounts" aren't real... But we are after a pingpong table!

MoreTeaLessCoffee · 18/11/2022 21:42

I need a new TV but haven't done the sensible thing of checking prices from a couple of months back to see if they've been artificially inflated for the sale, so who knows if I'll get a good deal!

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 18/11/2022 21:43

It's not really 'black Friday' anymore

It's turned into pre Christmas sales with just 10% off selected items....20% if you are lucky!

Can't believe how people still get sucked in by this.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 18/11/2022 21:43

Nothing
I don't bother with it. There's never anything I want

BosaNova · 18/11/2022 21:45

Yeah you need to keep a track if you want something. Not particularly great for impulse buys

LBOCS2 · 18/11/2022 21:46

We just bought a new vacuum cleaner from Amazon. We have one, it is rubbish (bought to replace a workhorse Miele which gave up after two house renovations) so we're going back to a Miele. Checked camelcamelcamel - it's the best price it's been since Jan. We're happy with that.

You can look things up on CamelCamel to see how their price has changed on Amazon over time. It's great.

ColdHandsHotHead · 18/11/2022 21:56

Nothing. I'm in the UK. Black Friday doesn't exist here.

TheFarawayNearby · 18/11/2022 21:58

I'm in the UK too, and I'm pretty sure it does exist. I don't love it, but denying its existence won't particularly help.

JaceLancs · 18/11/2022 21:59

Lego here

Looks like Currys have a month long sale on rather than just the Black Friday.

We have been in the market for a new laptop for a while and went to Currys on Sunday afternoon to see what they had in their sale and found one that is normally £899 reduced to £599, and it did everything we needed and more! So we already have that. (Thankfully we got it on Sunday as it is now out of stock!)

Wanted some decent wireless headphones for two of the boys for Christmas and got them for half price there too.

Normally we avoid Currys at all costs as their customer service is appalling and they aren't necessarily the cheapest, but realised recently that it is the only shop reasonably near to us that sells laptops, otherwise we would have had to buy one unseen online, but thankfully we did go to the shop as got a better deal than we could find on the internet.

So most of our Black Friday buying is already done!

IntrovertedPenguin · 18/11/2022 22:02

Nothing. To close to Christmas to be wasting money! Blush

wherearebeefandonioncrisps · 18/11/2022 22:03

A bit disappointed, if I'm honest.
My husband is a twitcher and had his eye on a monocular. I saw an offer for £5 off. Whoops do.

He's also had his eye on a wildlife cam. I looked. £10 off but it's £130 anyway!

Foolsandtheirmoney · 18/11/2022 22:07

I need a new printer for my business but I need a really specific one. I was hoping it will be reduced but realistically it probably won't. Other than that we bought a TV that had a few 100 off, we haven't had a TV for about 7 years but dh decided he wanted one again.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 18/11/2022 22:11

I've bought a silk scarf from Aspinal and some litre size bottles from Only Curls.

Both things I would have paid full price for but waited to see if there would be a discount.

BatshitBanshee · 18/11/2022 22:12

Bought a new double pram for our new arrival and toddler. Saved almost 300 quid so quite pleased with that! Also looking at a heat pump dryer. Apart from that...

I was eyeing up one of those hoover style carpet cleaners as I loath getting down on my knees to clean my rugs and carpets but... We'll see if it drops again in price.

purpliee · 18/11/2022 22:16

A bin that was on my Amazon wishlist has been reduced to €107. It was €136. Bit odd though that it's saying '50% off - Was €218'. It may have been €218 at some point (maybe) but it's been on my list at €136 since September.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 18/11/2022 22:23

I have been waiting to replace my son’s kindle fire (old one pretty much broken) so did that!

Beanbagtrap · 18/11/2022 22:26

Camel camel camel will give you price info for Amazon so you can check the deal
