That they're a sad twat, clearly after attention by spoiling things for others and they need to get a fucking life?

I know, I know, a TAAT, but it's along the sentiments that I was going to put on their post but it was (rightfully) pulled before I could post and I just thought they should know what an utter dick they are as no doubt they'll read this.

As you were!

The Queen won't be doing an Xmas broadcast this year.

Next you'll be telling me that Titanic doesn't end with them starting their new lives in New York.

To all those going 'but it has aired', it is about having some basic manners and consideration. The way we watch TV has changed from the days of finding out who shot JR. People don't always watch TV at the moment of broadcast, so it is good practice to put in the title of the thread 'spoiler alert' or similar so that anyone who has not seen it can avoid that thread.

Knittingnanny2 · 16/11/2022 13:04

How can it be a spoiler if it’s already been on TV?
like a previous poster, I once belonged to a group activity where one lady never watched anything “live” and It was so flipping difficult to have a tv chat without her saying about everything “ don’t talk a loud that, I haven’t watched it yet”.

ilovesooty · 16/11/2022 13:05

I remember the time when someone posted on a Strictly thread giving the dance off result before the results show was broadcast on the Sunday evening. That was a lot worse.

Knittingnanny2 · 16/11/2022 13:07

I do have good manners and consideration by the way and never gave anything away. It was just very, well , wearing having to be careful not to give anything away!

spanieleyes · 16/11/2022 13:09

Surely there's a difference in giving something away in the body of the postings and splashing it all over the thread title where it is impossible to avoid?

JR was shot?! Well, you’ve ruined that!

You are sad to be upset by a rubbish TV programme

sheepdogdelight · 16/11/2022 13:10

Deliberately posting to be spiteful was unnecessary.

But .. surely people know you stay off the internet/social media if you don't want to see the results of things like this? It will get posted somewhere!

GloomyDarkness · 16/11/2022 13:10

Seems a tad mean spirited especially as frankly it wasn't full of great bakes or great TV this time.

It was all a bit flat though Matt was much better by self in tent with contestants than with both of them.

londongals · 16/11/2022 13:11

lieselotte · 16/11/2022 11:55

In this day and age, so many people don't watch programs at the exact time they're on so it is a spoiler to immediately put it on a forum. It's just cruel

So in your world, when are we allowed to discuss things? A year later, just to make sure everyone has watched who wanted to watch?

exactly

KatherineJaneway · 16/11/2022 13:16

Stampystamperson · 16/11/2022 13:09

Damn! I should have said spoiler alert 😁

ForgetBarbie · 16/11/2022 13:17

Silvercatowner · 16/11/2022 11:54

It isn't a spoiler if the programme has aired. I don't see why people cannot discuss the result if they want to, just because a few people haven't yet watched. Avoid SM if you don't want to know.

Yep this is true. I used to watch Power and as soon as I went on Twitter, I would see spoilers. I ended up not using social media until I’d watched the episode for that week😂

I don’t really think you can call it a spoiler when it’s already been aired. Just because you haven’t watched it yet, it doesn’t mean those that have aren’t able to talk about it

Did I say I was sad? Did I say I was upset?

Nope! I said they were a twat for spoiling it, they put the winner's name in the thread title. They didn't need to do that did they? Although it didn't upset me it may well have upset others who were waiting to watch it. It was a dick move, and so I said so.

It's called empathy. Maybe you should try it sometime.

Are you sure it was a deliberate spoiler? I'm in the camp of if its been on TV its fine to talk about it. I dont normally watch it on the night but obv I knew it would be everywhere after the final so watched it and stayed off social media

Sillystripytail · 16/11/2022 13:45

@lieselotte don't be ridiculous. Just give it a day or twoHmm

Sillystripytail · 16/11/2022 13:49

Or if you are going to discuss it, just put spoiler alert in the thread title! 🤷‍♀️

StickySnotBalls · 16/11/2022 13:50

Although I don't watch it I know what you mean. I bought a book recently that I had really been looking forward to. The sales lady said ' ooh I loved the twist about blah blah blah ' seriously, why ?
