I live in a v wealthy area (abroad) i’m not wealthy myself, just average, but often work for families and know some socially through links with my Dd
So many of them have a personal relationship with these men in their lives, whilst the husbands work away (v frequently) and also maybe get up to god knows what.
Do you think the husbands know/mind?
Would you do it? Such a surreal life I imagine

I thought it only happened in TV dramas and films tbh.

Husbands are probably at it themselves so why are you focussing on the women only? Many men have double standards it’s ok for them, not ok for women so they probably would mind.

I have the most gorgeous personal trainer and I have a great professional relationship with him which is just the way I like it!

@magma32 I only know about the wives, but yes as I said above, the husbands getting up to god knows what too, I imagine 🤷🏻‍♀️

@magma32 Personally, no, I don’t think so…but I don’t know how their lives really are, if they’re happy etc, if it’s a mutual agreement. I just find it unusual

Depending on the area of work it can happen quite a lot unfortunately.

My DB worked offshore in the Mexican gulf for a good few years and during that time new plenty of men who ended up divorced because there wives got lonely at home and ended up having affairs.

Depends how rich, some women are in it for the money I guess so they know what marrying such men entails. Doubt it’s a mutual agreement though because men usually don’t need the wives as much as the wives need them (financially) so they call the shots. So the women I imagine are doing it in secret. But who knows.

Isn’t there a huge Rome footballer divorce happening where this exact thing happened?

DP is in one of the mentioned roles. It 100% happens very regularly. Although I hope not with him!

@Startuplife I was quite surprised really, my friends thought it was funny I had no idea at first, pretty common knowledge apparently. Which then makes me wonder how they keep it from the husbands. Does he ever get propositioned?

No I couldn’t be with someone who was sleeping around, I wouldn’t do it myself either, don’t care how rich they were, couldn’t risk STD’s for a start nevermind unwanted pregnancy and all that drama. Prefer a simple, quiet life.

I work in the city and in an old job it was like stepping in to a parallel universe where all the top execs were sleeping with each other and their spouses were having flings with the tennis coach / nanny.

Really icky tbh, it was never very sexy but always sort of portly round rich men with red wine breath and women wearing a sensible heel.

@ThisIsNotThePostYourLookingFor This is it, but to me it looks like a lovely life…loads of money, no need to work, free time to do as you please, beautiful area, gym, lunches with friends..I can see it getting boring in a way, but still, I think I’d be pretty happy with that

I wouldn’t, because I still hope my marriage will improve, and also would never so that to my children.

But years ago I would have despised this behaviour and now I find I understand it. Being married to a rich man usually means being married to a workaholic, as I am, and that is a lonely lonely trap to find yourself in.

I spend the days drifting around country club, gym, cafes etc and I can see the temptation when you cross paths with a man who actually listens to you. Particularly where you want to discuss kitchen design, decoration etc and your husband could not be less interested but then you meet the carpenter/decorator and he listens and he cares about where the fridge goes 🤣 and he has lovely forearms like DH used to before he became chained to banking laptops, etc etc.

@Feysriana Yes, I can understand that too, I guess that would just be being lonely in any relationship too though, wouldn’t it.
I wonder if the women would swap the money for more time with their Dh’s at home?

I think statistics for unfaithfulness show that men and women are actually almost equally unfaithful, so I guess this kind of thing is pretty common in all walks of life.

I'd quite like a sort of 3 month sabbatical to do a swap with someone like this. But I wouldn't do it for real. I think I'm too down to earth. And far too lazy to keep secrets.

I live in Yorkshire and a friend is a PT. He trains the clients in their home gyms so they are quite wealthy. He gets propositioned a lot (and in some very strange ways!).

I have a friend who lived abroad and shagged her PT. They came back to London to try to salvage the marriage and sort of did, but I wouldn't be surprised if the marriage didn't last.

I would never cheat on my husband. I made my vows and take them seriously.

NB I am not judging anyone who DOES cheat. And reading what you say @Feysriana I wonder if I would in your position as that sounds lonely and sad and I feel a bit sorry for you (not that I don't want to kill my husband frequently, and he DOESN'T earn a City salary!).
