If your toddler refused to wear trousers in the park

You'd say no park then and take them home.

I'm interested to hear if your toddler does this due to ASD or other diagnosis and you allow it?!

I've never seen a toddler in a public place like this so why does Bing promote it like it's acceptable?!

I wondered this too. I assumed there was some condition but according to CBeebies he just prefers it: “Replying to a Facebook question on the matter, CBeebies stated: ‘Pando, like many children, likes the freedom of not wearing too many clothes.”

I had one that liked to remove items of clothing if they 'got in his way'. It didn't last long and I used to just let him carry on playing! No ASD or anything else.

For a toddler I couldn't care less as long as it was appropriate for the weather and they had pants on.

In the summer some adult shorts are no bigger than pants.😂

Op sometimes you just have to pick your battles. I'll only battles over clothes in extreme weather.

I've one who hates parting with his winter jacket, it's like a big comfort blanket. He's been tossed in a paddling pool with it on.

And one who hates jackets and trousers. I fight over trousers in the snow. Even when the teacher sensitivity tried to ask about jackets - Yes it's in his bag if he needs / wants it.

I wouldn’t go home from a park for that, to be honest, but I do sense that Pando is ND.

My boy is Autustic. If he took his trousers off in the park we would put them back on. We wear clothes outside of the house is a basic rule. If its broken, we go home.
His main aversion however is shoes.

WOW! your user name says it all.

They are a toddler, learning the basics of walking, and talking. NOTHING else matters. If you want social etiquette, sign them up to a finishing school later in life.

And there is nothing wrong with naked, dress codes are an artificial social construct.

It doesn’t matter. Nothing to do with ASD. Toddlers be toddlering! They don’t want to do it forever and it causes zero harm.

I wouldn't respond like that. I'd just let them get on with it. It's a common phase and doesn't last long. As long they don't have genitals out I don't see the problem.

But I have a child who wears shorts and t shirt year round and another who is barefoot most of the time.

Yes society is a social construct whether you like it or not it's the world we live in 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm teaching mine how to succeed in this world, its a world where I disagree with lots I aspects but I want them to succeed. Learning to keep clothes on is part of that world. That's their "finishing" school.

I have 3 children. None of them are autistic and they are now all older than toddlers.

I wouldn’t have taken them home from the park for not wearing trousers. As long as they had pants on I would have let them crack on.

They’re now 10, 8 and 6 and have stopped randomly removing clothes so all good.

but toddlers, pick your battles.
