I fancy a blow-out calendar this year - we’ll just because:

Libertys
Selfridges?

Loccitane, it was on sale and is my Xmas present to myself.
I get one every other year.

ShakeYourFeathers · 17/10/2022 21:58

Following... have my eye on the mega Hotel chocolate one

FindingMyself1999 · 17/10/2022 21:59

I’m getting the Fabric Godmother one for my bday. Bit of a risk as can think of many more reliable bday pressies for me. So hope it’s good!!

FindingMyself1999 · 17/10/2022 22:03

Interesting one @MassiveSalad22 I recently got back into sewing!

Just a little-pictures one, like the ones I wished we could have when I was a child - but we never did.

I like the ultra corny one John Lewis has - trad snowy scene, a lot of dogs lined up to see Father Christmas on his sleigh. 🐶🎅🏻🎄

FindingMyself1999 · 17/10/2022 22:06

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER we had those at school. I never had one growing up either!

The l'occitane one looks lovely. And I do
Like their products

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER I did this last year!! I had the Emma Bridgewater one and it felt like such a treat.

mimillion · 17/10/2022 22:19

I've ordered the Debenhams beauty one this year, would love the Liberty one or Jo Malone one but can't justify the price. I've also got a Nespresso one.

Me too. Chocolate advent calendars didn't exist when I was a kid and I'd get so excited for the little picture every day!

DisappointinglyFlatulent · 17/10/2022 22:25

I've been sent the Yves Rocher one from a friend in France. Can't wait!

JaceLancs · 17/10/2022 22:25

Hotel chocolat the huge one

winewolfhowls · 17/10/2022 22:27

I got a lovely traditional picture one last year and have just closed the windows to reuse again!

KitsyWitsy · 17/10/2022 22:27

Elemis.

SkirridHill · 17/10/2022 22:36

Just out of left field, but does anybody have an idea of a vegan-appropriate advent calendar I could pick up? It's for a friend mine's stuffed full of animal products.

Dobbyismyabsolutefav · 17/10/2022 22:36

I've had cowshed before which was fantastic, big hint to DH. L'occitane is lovely and my go to is Hotel Chocolate.

Holland and Barrett usually do one.

TabithaTittlemouse · 17/10/2022 22:37

Libertys’

I usually get a beauty one but this year I'm having a dairy milk chocolate one.

The products end up piling up and I don't use half of them.

Oh great a boasting thread. I mean, no sour grapes from me - we have money.

I just don’t get why this is in “AIBU” - what was the thinking @FindingMyself1999 - greedy for “traffic”?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/10/2022 22:41

I am demonstrating my maturity and sophistication by having a Swizzels sweets advent calendar.

I used to have the ginger biscuit calendar, from John Lewis, but they stopped doing it a few years ago.

I think that's unfair. There's loads of other threads in various topics on MN, general convo about luxuries people would like to treat themselves to.

Yes, many, many people are finding things tough at the moment. And I suspect it's going to get worse.

But that doesn't mean every thread which mentions frivolous expenditure needs to have a trigger warning.

SkirridHill · 17/10/2022 22:44

Thank you @TabithaTittlemouse! :)

bewarethetides · 17/10/2022 22:50

I got the Liberty beauty calendar after a lot of studying the options. Bonus, Liberty had a special 20% cashback offer via topcashback on their ACs when I bought it which tipped me over into choosing it (versus the John Lewis and Fenwick ACs). Can't wait to open it; I've always wanted one.
