I fancy a blow-out calendar this year - we’ll just because:

Libertys
Selfridges?

what are you getting ?

Oh great a boasting thread. I mean, no sour grapes from me - we have money.

I just don’t get why this is in “AIBU” - what was the thinking @FindingMyself1999 - greedy for “traffic”?

It’s where I’m choosing to spend my money. It’s still a first world country you know!

I think for me I’d get the Latest in Beauty x Sunday Times one as mostly full sized products and most things I like. However, I can’t justify spending that on frivolous stuff for me so I’ve bought DD the Harrods perfume and DH a Nespresso one. Maybe I’ll just get a nice picture one.

Pootle40 · 17/10/2022 23:03

I've ordered the John Lewis one

pimlicoanna · 17/10/2022 23:07

I'm always so disappointed in the pricey beauty ones that I think I'm just going to go for a good chocolate one this year.

TawnyPippit · 17/10/2022 23:17

DD and I are going to share a canned cocktails one 😊.

(She is in her first year at uni so I suspect quite a few cans will end up back there next term).

I had the Jo Malone one the year before last. Wasn’t worth it, IMO. Ended up with loads of teeny candles in horrible scents.

Have also had the Hotel Chocolat one. It’s nice and I really love chocolate but it’s a LOT. I ended up with loads left over and the dates were fairly short so had some wastage where the products just deteriorated and weren’t nice to eat.

Spanglybangles · 18/10/2022 09:48

Got an email today about the Sephora one which looks good. Unsure if I can justify £139 on an advent calendar though! Might splurge though and share with DD.

There's a big toblerone one in Tesco I eyed up the other day.
I usually get m and s beauty calendar too but I'm just looking at all the stuff I haven't used from last year and I'm not sure it's worth it.

CrazyBaubles · 18/10/2022 10:35

I'm being treated to a Spode one by my dad - it's a tea-light one. Never had one before so no idea of scent etc.
I'm also going to buy myself a picture one I think. I would waste a beauty one and the chocolate ones always end up wasted here.

Just out of left field, but does anybody have an idea of a vegan-appropriate advent calendar I could pick up? It's for a friend mine's stuffed full of animal products.

Hotel Chocolat does a vegan one, I’ve bought it for my son. I’m having Liberty, having paid into their Beauty Drop for it all year.

I've ordered the Debenhams beauty one this year, would love the Liberty one or Jo Malone one but can't justify the price. I've also got a Nespresso one.

@mimillion

Thoughts so far on Debenhams? It’s brilliantly resided but strikes me as a little… dull?

Iamblossom · 03/12/2022 08:50

I've got myself the Laithwaites one. 🍷 the house isn't as pretty as last years it's more modern, but I still love it.
