Different pasta shapes taste different

God tier: linguine, rigatoni, orzo

Mid tier: spaghetti, farfalle, penne

Shit tier: tagliatelle, fusilli

My family think I'm being precious for wanting rigatoni over penne. Seems I've found my folk.

We did a food tour in Rome and that thick spaghetti that isn't called spaghetti is lush.

As others have said I think all pasta is great but only with the right sauces.
My family is Italian (from Puglia) and there are definite rules about which pasta goes with which sauce.
Orzo is a soup pasta. Pastina made with orzo is really good. Pastina is like jewish chicken soup for Italians it makes everyone feel better if they are ill. It's also used for bacala at Christmas.
Orriciette is for broccoli sauce
Linguine is for sea food.....
Farfalle are ok in pastina too but I always cook them for longer.

Lol- I'm.in Puglia and had pasta in brodo today for my sinuses.

See I'd always choose Penne or rigatoni. But DP moans- we compromise on fusilli- the giant ones are lush. Not bothered by long strandy ones or little mini ones

I could pretty much demolish any type of pasta but can’t stand farfalle with its slimy little wings. And don’t get me started on ravioli 🤮

best - tagliatelle, linguine, fusilli
mid - shells, macaroni (Mac n cheese only)
crap - farfalle, penne

Orecchiette Always reminds me of desperate housewives when she had a Moment with the sexy chef at the restaurant! I’ve never had it for that reason 😂
