Anyone got an absolute bargain or something they couldn't find anywhere else but eBay came good?

I'm disappointed a lot so would be good to hear what your experience has been like?

Yep, an original Victorian cast iron fire place which just happened to be in a remote village that I just happened to be nearby visiting. Exact dimensions I needed. £1.

ChilliBandit · 25/09/2022 19:56

A beautiful antique pine sideboard for £9. I offered the woman £30 when I went to pick it up as £9 seemed criminal. She insisted no, you won it for £9, I gave her £10 and she was adamant I took the £1 change. Gave me 5 star feedback. I love it and get so many compliments on it. I always think warmly of that seller when I look at it.

A gPlan 1960s cabinet…..in excellent condition….we just put some hairpin legs on it…..it takes pride of place in my back room now…… same thing with legs. Goes for about £400 quid on eBay….we got it for 30 quid

Yes, just this week! A really good DSLR camera for my son - the model he wanted usually goes for about £300 used, education was beyond me, but I got one on a buy-it-now for less than half that and it's in fantastic condition and works perfectly.

BigBunkers · 25/09/2022 19:59

Yes a sideboard. Fantastic bargain for what it is and never come close to finding anything similar in style let alone price.

OrlaOrka · 25/09/2022 19:59

Yep! Got a mini boden outfit for my baby for £5, new with tags on, saw the same in John Lewis a week later for £29!!

Chloefairydust · 25/09/2022 20:00

Yes all the time, I usually get really good deals of branded/ designer clothes on eBay. Sometimes new with tags, other times used but in excellent condition. Saves me a lot of money. I also sell unwanted items on there too.

TwinkleToesStrikesAgain · 25/09/2022 20:01

Kitchen for £8k. The electrical goods alone (all brand new) were worth £10k and the units easily >£20k.

drpet49 · 25/09/2022 20:01

A beautiful glass bowl I was going to buy from John Lewis. Checked eBay and there was a brand new one and I saved £80!

properdoughnut · 25/09/2022 20:02

I mostly get makeup cheap you have to be careful coz of fakes but I got a brand new charlotte tilbury palette for £6 because it had been listed with a typo I think.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 25/09/2022 20:02

I bought a mirror thing on there for about £6. It had the original sticker on the back with the price showing at £80.

I just needed to repaint the frame and it was perfect!

WeCanBeHappyUnderground · 25/09/2022 20:04

A beautiful dining table and chairs for £200, would have been £1000 new

A £700 cabin bed for £30

A £20 washing machine that lasted us 8 years

asimileofsomesmoke · 25/09/2022 20:05

The exact jacket I had lost. It is so absolutely identical to its predecessor that most of the time I forget it's a replacement.

DeadButDelicious · 25/09/2022 20:06

I collect Victorian Whitby Jet and I found this absolutely gorgeous brooch that was listed as being plastic (they thought vulcanite) I took a punt on it as it looked like Jet in the photo (it has like a glow, it's hard to explain, but once you know what you're looking for you get a good feel for it) and either way it was still a really beautiful brooch and I won it for £16 including postage. When it arrived, not only was it significantly bigger than I expected it to be but it was indeed Whitby Jet and an early piece as well! It's one of my absolute favourites!

A big chunky winter jumper from Jigsaw.100% wool. I can't remember how long I've had it, or much much it was, but it comes out every winter

oviraptor21 · 25/09/2022 20:07

Trumpet. Worth about £450. Got it for £70.

XelaM · 25/09/2022 20:08

£37 black Nike air force 1 trainers that my daughter wanted for school in size 7. Really(!!) expensive usually even second hand especially in her size.

£28 brand new Nike puffer jacket with tags still on. They are so so expensive!!

Whatthejackdawsaw · 25/09/2022 20:14

Yes I've bought a few childrens outfits and toys that saved me a lot and a great condition jacket that I have worn many times and still have 15 years later for about quarter of the price I'd have paid. Though I did once have to send a dress back to a seller as it had some questionable stains in the lining (Ill spare you the details)...that nearly put me off ever buying again but the seller seemed mortified and refunded immediately plus I had so many other positive experiences on the site that I got over it.

Was the village in Buckinghamshirr by any chance?

The perfume I loved from last years F&M advent at a cheaper price- the full size is 300 (obv I was buying 10ml size but still paid £18 not £30)

NisekoWhistler · 25/09/2022 20:20

£50 Miele dishwasher that's still going strong 3 years on

CollieWobble22 · 25/09/2022 20:23

Brand new barbour jacket with tags. For about £3.99

Nobody bidded on it because the seller spelt Barbour wrong!! It was £160 in the local store.

I went in there wearing it to compare and make sure it wasnt fake. It was 100% authentic.

Just a spelling mistake

Blossomtoes · 25/09/2022 20:24

Lots. Latest is two brand new pairs of Ash high top trainers for £17.01 each. They retail for £155 a pair. I bet the seller was gutted.

CMOTDibbler · 25/09/2022 20:25

Oh, loads - I love ebay! Just this moment bought a £220 dress with tags for £39.
