To think this is a bit unfair?no money

So I've sold quite a bit on vinted.
I've been posting via Royal Mail
So have to pay the postage up front
Now I keep all receipts
I posted items last Monday 2nd class
The buyer once received is meant to click a button on app to say its been delivered.

I posted 10 parcels over £100
And only 1 person has clicked delivered last Thursday.

Checking all the tracking ..every parcel was delivered last Thursday.
9 of them haven't bothered clicking to say they have it.

Aibu to think this system isn't fair at all?
So i have to wait another 21 days I think to get the money from vinted if the buyer decides not to quickly state they have the item.

Its frustrating as every sale I post the next day (bar Sunday as it's closed )

I always send them a message and ask them to mark it as received. Most of the time they do... but yes quite an annoying system!

Instead of Royal Mail send with Evri and buyer prepays postage

I didn't want to be pushy but it's a lot of money to wait for and I'm assuming they are all happy with the items.
Also annoying that they've all been active on the vinted app

I don't have a printer unfortunately
I have got the yodel option on but for some reason people pick RM even tho it's more expensive

I sell on ginger but never send via Royal Mail. The main reason for this is that I work full time and don't get time to go to the post office. Sounds like perhaps you need to choose a different method of delivery?

Ebay does the same thing when you first start selling. It's very difficult as obviously most of the time you are selling because you need the funds! They should at least release the postage really.

Vinted is just a shit show I've had a terrible experience as a buyer actually can't believe its legal tbh. Won't be using it again.

I think a lot of people refuse to send through Royal Mail for this reason. I knew they refused but didn’t fully understand until I read your thread.

You can turn off Royal Mail as an option in your settings if you’re able to send via EVRI, Yodel etc. in future. Sorry I know that doesn’t help you right now. Really annoying you’re having to wait!

Just saw your comment re no printer. I do need a printer to send via EVRI but for yodel the shop I take it too print the label. Might be an option for you?

With yodel do they still need to mark as delivered too?

I hate this with vinted too and I always ask buyers to change from rm to yodel or evri

I have turned off royal mail for that reason and also because they seem.a bit more restrictive on parcel sizes. With Hermes/evri I've sent a few things that seemed a bit to large for the selected parcel size but they all got through 🤣🤣

Buyers will always forget to mark as received. It's best just to tell yourself you'll get the money in 21 days max. and don't expect it any earlier. Saves getting would up.

I always send RM and have never had a problem.

i do always post proof of postage into the correspondence with the buyer and I follow up two days later (when RM show it as delivered) to check they are happy with their purchase and asking them to confirm receipt.

I always say after sale
"Thankyou ,just to let you know I will be posting tomorrow "

It isn’t just marking as received though, is it? I seem to remember that when you buy you are asked to validate at the same time that you received the parcel and that all items are as expected.
The buyers don’t necessarily always have time to do that straightaway, maybe it’s dark and they want to see the clothes in daylight etc.
I would do it asap if prompted by a seller’s message though.

I agree OP, it's annoying when they don't mark it. I had one CF who took ages to mark as received then started asking questions as if they weren't happy with the item, they were clearly angling to not pay. I asked them to return the item as vinted advise, all of a sudden it was fine 🙄

They probably don't realise as most people don't use custom shipping, they use the Vinted shipping labels which update to delivered automatically and aren't used to having to do it themselves
