To think this is a bit unfair?no money

So I've sold quite a bit on vinted.
I've been posting via Royal Mail
So have to pay the postage up front
Now I keep all receipts
I posted items last Monday 2nd class
The buyer once received is meant to click a button on app to say its been delivered.

I posted 10 parcels over £100
And only 1 person has clicked delivered last Thursday.

Checking all the tracking ..every parcel was delivered last Thursday.
9 of them haven't bothered clicking to say they have it.

Aibu to think this system isn't fair at all?
So i have to wait another 21 days I think to get the money from vinted if the buyer decides not to quickly state they have the item.

Its frustrating as every sale I post the next day (bar Sunday as it's closed )

RM delivery on Vinted fucks me right off, having to pay upfront to post an item. I’ve clicked it off now, I don’t accept it.

Thanks for all your suggestions
With yodel do they still need to mark as delivered too?

No it does it automatically with Yodel and you just take a barcode to the store and they print the label

not sure if it’s been answered but why do you have to wait another 21 days? I was a
couple days later clicking the ‘received’ button but didn’t realise it delays payment for the seller, I will always make sure I do it straight away now.

If it's done through custom shipping then the buyer has to click that the item has been delivered before clicking "everything is ok". If the buyer doesn't mark as delivered then Vinted will change the status to delivered automatically 21 days after it was posted

RunningFromInsanity · 20/09/2022 21:52

As a buyer on Vinted I had no idea about the 21 day wait and only remember to mark as received if prompted.

Perhaps send a message after 3 days saying if you are happy with the purchase please click receive so that the money can be released?

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 20/09/2022 21:53

Definitely message them. It’s annoying but on the odd occasion I’ve had something posted via rm on vinted I always end up forgetting to mark it received because it’s usually stuff I’ve bought from eBay that comes via rm!

I always try and use evri or yodel if I can.

bringloo · 20/09/2022 21:54

Do you think it's worth turning Rm off ?

I would put a little note in with the parcel asking them to make as received as soon as they get it. It's easy to read something on a phone, think 'oh I'll do that later' and forget.

bringloo · 21/09/2022 09:24

They've been online yesterday and today and just ignoring my message asking them to mark as arrived
Frustrating considering I posted next day and paid extra postage

I would definitely turn RM off and just use Yodel. That way the only money your waiting on is for the item and not the postage too.

MyneighbourisTotoro · 21/09/2022 11:09

I sell on vinted, I’ve only ever had a few people forget to mark it as received and usually a message to them sorts it.
You get a number when you post 2nd class, have you checked to see if they’ve all been delivered, if so you can screenshot the proof and go directly to vinted, they’ll mark it themselves and you’ll get your payout.

throwa · 21/09/2022 14:44

I've turned RM off when using Vinted for the same reasons.

I've also turned InPost off after hearing that a lot of people have had problems with it; the labels are put on by the InPost courier when they collect the parcels from the lockers and apparently it seems to be quite common that the labels get attached to the wrong parcels, so your buyer will get something completely random. Of course, tracking will show as delivered, so then it all gets quite complicated trying to get the buyer a refund, and you end up out of pocket. So although it's not happened to me, I've decided to stick with Evri and Yodel (never thought I'd say that...) as at least there's a chance of the parcel getting the right label on it and heading off in the right direction!
