To wonder if new PM will call a snap election?

What do you think? I don’t think it’s particularly likely she’ll call a snap election soon, but I’m open to the possibility she might. I’m also wondering how long she’ll be PM for tbh, and if the party will turn on her as they have done with the other PMs we’ve had in the last few years. Just curious and idly wondering really.

No. She barely has the support of her own party, and the polls are terrible.

She’s going to get a very rough ride from the her backbenchers and everyone else

She wouldn't dare

Not unless the polls tell her she's going to win. And as a load of people who got Johnson elected have left, that looks increasingly less likely.

She's better to try to win the electorate round by sorting out the rise in cost of living. If she can do that so people feel she's looking after them, then she's got a chance. But until then, she'd be better to sit tight.

I honestly think she will. The divisions in the party are too deep, the public are becoming increasingly pissed off, and it seems like the world is rapidly going to shit. I give her a couple of months until she gets backed into a political corner where her only way out is to resign or gamble it all on an election.

She has a mountain to clim before being in election winning position.

The country needs to be pulled back from the brink of recession. There is the mess caused by by Covid lockdowns to sort out. The pound needs to stabilise and inflation needs to drop below 5% at least. None of this can be done in two years to be honest.

No. I think she wants to put her plans into action. Everything is so bad right now that the Tories will be booted out.

She ruled it out in her speech by saying 2024.

They have more chance of winning if they wait until the boundary changes come in.

No. She won't. It looks highly likely that she would lose a General Election at present so she will hang on until as late as possible trying to sway the voters.

An election is due in late 2024 anyway.

I don't think she will. This seems to be another Theresa May leadership in that the MPs have thrown her under the bus to try and sort out shite (May had brexit) but will replace her before election with their real prefered candidate (as Boris was) before the next election

YABU Elections are expensive as well as risky. 4 PMs between 2010 and 2022 is bad enough.

Haha. @Fiwere25again. I doubt the,Tories think as far forward as that. They're not machiavellian geniuses, you know.

No, we just had to tolerate a long leadership election and basically an AWOL government. It would be a bloody awful idea to have MP’s running around campaigning instead of doing their jobs.

Not a chance. The economics don't work to win. Simples.

She wouldn’t dare but I’d love it if she did. I don’t think they’ll win the next election.. I think they’ve made their bed and I think the next two years will be horrendous tbh. X

No she won’t. She won’t want to move twice in a couple of months will she? I wish she would though, I can’t wait to see the back of the lot of them.
