So, lightening coinciding with Liz Truss becoming Prime Minister has felt a bit like deja vu and didn’t inspire confidence… anyone else notice and make the connection?

I like Lightening - it isnt necessarily a bad omen

I had this exact thought last night as I looked out at my street flooded with torrential rain while lightning flashed and thunder rolled overhead.

It did not feel like a great omen.

When it was Nelson Mandela’s funeral there was an epic and quite unusual long lasting thundershower for hours in Johannesburg around the stadium where the public funeral was held. It was as if the sky was crying too. 😢

‘Omen’ by definition means prophetic significance one way or the other; good or bad is subjective.

In the case of 2019’s choosing of Boris as leader, it was arguably an omen (with the benefit of hindsight, given what happened in 2020). Ominous deja vu we have thunder and lightning for the appointment of the leader after him…

Someone has researched and written an academic essay about this: Could rainfall have swung the result of the Brexit referendum?

I’m no professional soothsayer (do those roles even exist anymore?!) or anything but I’d argue the rain served it’s purpose as part of an omen. It’s like a domino effect.

Thanks to that referendum we’ve had 4 Prime Ministers in 6 years.

Weather connections are weird aren't they.
On the day of my grandads funeral it was unexpectedly grey then during the service the skies just darkened and it rained so heavily. As he was being lowered into the ground it stopped and the sky cleared so quickly and the sun just blazed. It was very eerie.
