To think you can overcome most allergies

Hehoe · 04/09/2022 21:54

I am not talking about the big allergies like peanuts etc. I mean pet allergies and intolerances.

OP posts:
ihatethefuckingmuffin · 04/09/2022 21:57

ime no they have gotten worse and the list has grown since I was a child.

romdowa · 04/09/2022 21:58

I'd love to know how you over come an allergy , which is a chemical response in a person's body

nutellachurro · 04/09/2022 21:59

Erm

Op how do you think people get over allergies?

stayinghometoday · 04/09/2022 22:00

Please tell me how?

YellowPlumbob · 04/09/2022 22:01

Tell that to my 6YO who was accidentally given dairy last week and spent 72 hours projectile vomiting, watery, explosive poo and crying in pain. I’m sure she will just over it.

Avacadoandtoast · 04/09/2022 22:01

Please tell me how - I’d love to get over my annual spout of hayfever!!

NiqueNique · 04/09/2022 22:01

An intolerance is not an allergy...

monkeysox · 04/09/2022 22:01

You are a bell end

WildOats5678 · 04/09/2022 22:01

Tell that to my bowels whenever I have dairy 🤔 3 years of being lactose intolerant and it’s only got worse.

FatOaf · 04/09/2022 22:01

What research are you basing this on, OP?

sjxoxo · 04/09/2022 22:02

I’m guessing you don’t have an allergy op.. 😂 I’d love to be able to overcome my hayfever. It’s really bad. In high summer sometimes I can’t go outside without my whole face itching, throat on fire and my eyes burning. There are two things I’d change about my body rather than accept a million quid - one is my weight/proportions and the other is my hayfever!!!! The first year I had it I was in hospital as I couldn’t breathe. It gives me really bad asthma if I don’t keep on top of it X

StopStreet · 04/09/2022 22:02

Afraid not. And pet allergies can be as life threatening as peanut ones so just as "big".

Thatsnotmycar · 04/09/2022 22:03

Can you please let me know so I can overcome DS’s allergies, including DS1’s anaphylactic allergy to many animals.

beggsie · 04/09/2022 22:03

No such thing as a big allergy. If you're allergic, you're allergic. And I say that as a parent of two kids with nut allergies.

NCQuiteConfused · 04/09/2022 22:03

I have tried and failed many times with pet allergies! Had hoped exposure would minimise but I just ended up with horrific asthma and eczema 😅 it's a no from me

Nomorescreentime · 04/09/2022 22:04

What are the “big” allergies OP? Is that the scientific classification you’re using there?

Thatiswild · 04/09/2022 22:04

Repeated exposure can cause an allergy to become much more severe in some people, to a point where if they are exposed again it could be an extreme threat to life. Yabu

Akite · 04/09/2022 22:04

Ooh great. How can I get over my hayfever then? It's only appeared over the last 10 years and it's getting steadily worse so I'm all ears.

QuiltedHippo · 04/09/2022 22:04

Why do you think peanut allergies deserve respect but not others?
I say this as the mother of a child with a peanut allergy, that people take way more seriously than her other allergies. Its weird, dairy kills most people when it

MumDadBingoBlueyy · 04/09/2022 22:04

Would love to know how, as a parent of a child who’s just failed the first step of the egg ladder again (4th time), I refuse to even try the milk ladder again after our experience last time

Mayorquimby2 · 04/09/2022 22:05

Are you medically thick?

badbaduncle · 04/09/2022 22:05

Yes. Of course! DS needs to try harder not to be allergic to dairy. Why didn't I think of that?

QuiltedHippo · 04/09/2022 22:05

*posted too soon....

Amazongirl9 · 04/09/2022 22:05

Err how?

Hotandbothereds · 04/09/2022 22:06

Well considering allergies and intolerances are different things you don’t appear to grasp the basics OP so I don’t know how you think you’re going to fix them.
