Ahhhh!! Do people think they are Carrie Bradshaw looking out her apartment window?! Also 'No panic' as a response when there was no suggestion of a panic panic!! Aarrghhh!

And breathe. I'm sure I'm not alone.

What are you on about? Hmm

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 30/08/2022 11:02

Are you referring to something in particular?

Sparklingbrook · 30/08/2022 11:03

Social media and needy/dramatic people by the sound if it?

mikado1 · 30/08/2022 11:04

😂
Apologies! Just ranting. People have taken the 'And just like that' phrase as something to use to introduce any piece of news on SM it seems...maybe I'm the only one whose goat it gets!!
No panic, another one that kills me!

Five more 'And just like thats' since I posted, mostly school pics but it's not a completely recent thing. However, my earlier rage has passed somewhat!

ZellyFitzgerald · 30/08/2022 19:55

Yeah I hate this too....

And just like that my little man turned 5.

And just like that the holibobs are over.

And just like that this one became my hubby.

Extra points for cutesy words and phrases like this one, holibobs, little man and hubby of course!!!

Spanglybangles · 30/08/2022 20:00

I wrote this on social media randomly years ago about one of my kids on their birthday…now it’s everywhere!! I clearly started this trend 😁

mikado1 · 30/08/2022 22:22

Carrie should have name checked you so Spangly 😂

Keyansier · 30/08/2022 22:25

I'm not on social media apart from forums and even I've seen (and been annoyed by) this!

Bigbus · 30/08/2022 22:25

What really annoys me about it is that it wasn’t ‘just like that’. My PFB will be 16 next week and honestly that’s years of blood, sweat and tears to get this far! Not remotely ‘and just like that’!

mikado1 · 30/08/2022 22:27

Exactly!! It's done for a particular effect but I'm not sure what!

OP posts:
Flossiemoss · 30/08/2022 22:32

Also “This one…”

yeah? What about them?
I’d love to but I don’t. I very politely like instead.

mikado1 · 30/08/2022 22:50

Zelly 🙈

chipshopElvis · 30/08/2022 22:59

YANBU! It's massively irritating!

HangOnToYourself · 30/08/2022 23:10

I've never seen "no panic", what context is that in?

JasmineIndigo · 30/08/2022 23:12

To be fair I've been seeing people use the phrase 'and just like that' on social media for a few years now, not sure it's all because of that show..

Mckmck · 30/08/2022 23:16

Back to or first days of school are the worst

Gagaandgag · 30/08/2022 23:29

Oh it’s awful.
My sister did it recently and I cringed so much - I’d hoped for better from her
“And just like that A is 2” 🤦🏼‍♀️

Enidcat5 · 30/08/2022 23:33

YESSSSSS it's a huge dislike of mine.

And just like that...Joshua is 4!

Argggggh

stayathomer · 30/08/2022 23:42

But it’s an apt phrase!! I’ve never used it but I think it does the job, it’s like ‘in the blink of an eye’. I love it but I do wish satc hadn’t taken it

Lilyann60 · 30/08/2022 23:44

“And so it begins” aaaarrrrrggh. Hate this too
“ Lovely lady “ bleurgh
don’t know why they irritate me …just do! 🤷‍♀️

Readinstead · 31/08/2022 00:01

I hate "I turned round and said". I hadn't heard it for a while but recently heard it 3 time in 2 days, it can just sod off again.

mikado1 · 31/08/2022 13:24

Don't like any of the above either 😁 Haven't heard I turned around or she turned around in ages! I always thought it came across a but dramatic, even aggressive.

OP posts:
Spanglybangles · 31/08/2022 16:15

@mikado1 yes, she definitely should have. Was just as a descriptor for how I felt the years had flown by….wouldn’t use it now though.

Ineedwinenow · 31/08/2022 16:19

I hate “ I love you to the moon and back” it’s used regularly by my family and friends on social media to their loved ones and it makes my skin crawl! I have no idea where it came from but “ I love you “ is absolutely fine!
