To stick with “jeggings”

So... mn and the general internet seems to have decreed skinny jeans and jeggings are over. (real life I still spot them out and about on adult women.. not the young lassies tho)

anyway, I thought I’d try a pair of those “mom” jeans. I’m a wee fattie (5ft3 and size 18). And OMG. They were fucking awful. I looked awful in them. I can’t imagine that even if I was a size 8, I still would look awful in them. And they felt so heavy and uncomfortable.

I tend to live in dresses all year round, but sometimes do wear jeans. Aibu to just stick with my jeggings?

I would fuck fashion. I am also 5,3 and tubby and can't imagine anything other than skinny jeans and leggings if not in a dress.

Mom jeans are awful. I'm also a size 18, but in the not so distant past was a 12, and they were still awful. Pull on stretchy jeggins for me, and I'm quite pleased to see bootcut appear to be making a comeback.

You're definitely not too old for fashion! Some styles just don't suit certain shapes. Stick to skinnies, or wear jeggings. If you feel right and clothes fit well, you will feel confident and look stylish.

Wear whatever you want. I only wear skinny jeans and I won't be changing.

I like my mom jeans, they suit my body whereas jeggings look awful on me. Wear what you feel comfortable in and what you feel suits you.

Mom jeans look hideous. Why anyone wants to make their belly and arse look bigger, and their crotch look elongated and saggy, I have no idea!

I look hideous in mom jeans, I just can't get on with them! I'm still doing skinny jeans and oversized boyfriend shirts, it suits me 🤷‍♀️

I hate to say it but Jeggings went out of fashion many years before skinny jeans did.

Mom jeans are not for moms. DD looks great in them as a size 6. Me not so much. I am wearing slim jeans.

I’m 5’7.5 and 8.5 stone. I look awful in mum jeans. They drown me and flatten my bum. Straight leg and skinny are far more flattering.

Are they really out of fashion? I was in New Look today and there was one pair of Mom jeans and the rest were skinny, super skinny or jeggings!

I think they have 'gone out of fashion' in the sense you don't see many younger girls/women wearing them much.
However, myself and most of my friends (very much the wrong side of 30😆) are all still happily wearing them and we are all different shapes and sizes!!!
I suppose it just depends on whether you want to be fashionable or stylish, you can be stylish without sticking religiously to fashion trends (that's what I'm telling myself anyway).

Wear what you want! I don't wear any jeans other than jeggings cos I'm allergic to metal zips and buttons. Not into fads and trends either, everyone ends up looking like clones of each other!

I kind of think that stuff looks good on you, or it doesn't. There's not many people who genuinely look better in shapeless or mom jeans than slim fit jeans. Difference is, the younger demographic think it's more important to wear what is a latest trend even if it looks shite, and as we get older, we stick with what suits us, rather than look like a dog's dinner, "because fashion."

Wear what you feel good in. Fuck fashion. Think of women whose style you admire - do they slavishly follow fashion? Probably not - they know what suits them and stick with that.

I still see loads of people in skinny jeans. I’m a size 10 and mom style jeans look awful on me and none of my tops work with them. Also my entire work wardrobe is designed around wearing skinny jeans.
i think they’re still a staple in the same way things like a white t shirt or a black dress are so they’re not “in fashion” but not bad to wear.
The fashion that is “in” is designed for teenage girls in my opinion and I’d like a right idiot if I was dressing the same as my teen

I live in skinny jeans but my son told me nobody wears skinny jeans anymore so I tried to be trendy and bought a pair of “paperbag” jeans … god it was fucking hilarious, I actually looked like a clown. It was so funny I went downstairs in them, asked DH what he thought of my new jeans and he looked at them, looked at my face and then said “well … do YOU like them?” 😂😂 bless him, trying to be polite! 🤣 I just burst out laughing and he said “is it a joke? Where the hell did you get them?” 😂😂

After having a good laugh at myself in the mirror and taking a few photos to send my mum to cheer her up and sent the cunts back and went back to my skinny jeans!
