Where the fuck is Boris?

Moaningturtle1 · 26/08/2022 14:39

He’s still our PM, the nation has just been told they are fucked this winter and more so in January.

Where’s the emergency COBRA meeting? Why isn’t Boris meeting with Sunak and Truss and coming up with a plan?

Where’s the press conferences to reassure us he gives a shit?

I just worked my notice and you know what? I actually WORKED my notice, up until my last day. Absolutely no excuses
for this piss poor (non) show from BJ.

I think he is in Keiv

chillipenguin · 26/08/2022 14:47

Yeah he's in Ukraine isn't he?

Justcallmebebes · 26/08/2022 14:47

He was in Ukraine and to be honest, although I'm no fan by a long shot, if I were him I wouldn't be hanging around here either

chillipenguin · 26/08/2022 14:48

Oh and he used up his remaining holiday leave in Greece for a bit I think

Moaningturtle1 · 26/08/2022 14:48

Excellent, I believe it’s possible to communicate with the U.K. from Kyiv. I await his announcement.

Announcement about what?

Quincythequince · 26/08/2022 14:49

He made a statement saying he would leave this crisis to the incoming PM to sort.

TBF you can’t make long term changes when you know you’re leaving can you (look at a Trump and Judge Amy) but he could at least comment and do something, or indicate something will need to be done.

He has already said this would be left to the incoming PM.

Ages ago in fact.

Don’t agree with it, but he has made his position clear on this one.

Useless shitebag that he is

So he could be doing that with Sunak and Truss?

basilmint · 26/08/2022 14:53

He was in Ukraine boosting his profile as anti-Russain superhero and gathering content for his speeches on the post-PM after-dinner circuit and his autobiography.

SizzlerFizzler · 26/08/2022 14:53

Determined to hang on so his tenure wouldn't be shorter than Theresa May's but so determinedly lazy that he can't be arsed to actually do anything in terms of governing as the country is on the brink of the worst financial crisis in decades.

That's why everyone is turning to Martin Lewis. Because that useless lump and his useless cabinet cannot be fucked.

Always time to go to Ukraine and have a photo op with Zelenskyy though. Good-o.

basilmint · 26/08/2022 14:53

Seems fair enough. Don't really want him screwing anything else up before he leaves

Penguinfeather781 · 26/08/2022 14:53

He’s not going to tie the hands of his successor, and I very much doubt Sunak or Truss want to meet with him to agree policies for next winter. We just have to wait until the new leader is in place. Boris is a lame duck, his reassurances are meaningless.

If there was a terrorist attack or a tidal wave or similar time critical emergency I’m sure Cobra would meet and Boris would appear.

JennyForeigner · 26/08/2022 14:54

I don't know, where do fat useless f normally migrate for their tenth holiday of the summer?

StridTheKiller · 26/08/2022 14:55

He's busy giving away our millions to Ukraine.

ChevreChase · 26/08/2022 14:55

He was in a hospital this morning, looked like the UK. He likes hanging around hospitals almost as much as he likes visiting Ukraine. I guess he will do a flurry of visible 'work' engagements for the last week or so.

W0tnow · 26/08/2022 14:56

Those who voted for him deserves everything they get.

Yeah, I know. He’s probably remove the cap so instead of the average being £3.5k from October, it would be double that.

Useless arsehole.

Moaningturtle1 · 26/08/2022 14:56

Why isn’t he holding talks with Truss and Sunak and them jointly coming up with a plan that the next PM will continue with?

Another 2 weeks is too long to wait, action needed to be taken months ago. Many people will die this winter, many more will overstretch the already broken NHS. God forbid a new covid strain or bad flu season.

I honestly don’t see why the government aren’t working together on this now. Johnson, Sunak and Truss are all on the same side aren’t they? The Conservative party fought to lead this country yet we are left hanging in the balance while no one does anything.

I would have thought that with 18 months until a GE and 2 hard winters between then that they would be scrambling to help. The new price cap is 34% of the new pension (Martin Lewis this morning) - They need those votes!

SizzlerFizzler · 26/08/2022 14:59

Who needs a functioning government when we have Liz Truss making a herself appear to be a vacuous twit at every given opportunity.

Honestly, the fact that the government comes to a halt for over 2 months while the morons in the Tory leadership contest slug it out is insane.

But everyone just accepts it.

This.

54isanopendoor · 26/08/2022 15:05

If he were here he would somehow make it worse probably
BUT - he either turns up for work in the UK and chairs meetings about this.
OR he buggers off on his hols / to the Ukraine / elsewhere & doesn't draw his pay. It shouldn't be possible for him to do both. Repugnant creature that he is.

Notonthestairs · 26/08/2022 15:05

It's not about not wanting to tie the hand of his successor. It's making sure his successor/the Conservatives gets a bounce from the announcement in September and can roll in to the party conference on a wave of approval.
Nothing to do with good governance IMO.

Of course knowing the price changes were coming they could have truncated the leadership election and got on with the job. God knows they are quite happy to change the rules when it suits them.

(Parliament closes for party conferences on 17th September).
