Where the fuck is Boris?

He’s still our PM, the nation has just been told they are fucked this winter and more so in January.

Where’s the emergency COBRA meeting? Why isn’t Boris meeting with Sunak and Truss and coming up with a plan?

Where’s the press conferences to reassure us he gives a shit?

I just worked my notice and you know what? I actually WORKED my notice, up until my last day. Absolutely no excuses
for this piss poor (non) show from BJ.

So they are back for all of 2 weeks before work stops again?

Will the new PM even have their email login by then?!

Haha. A plan between the 2 of them? Sunak and Truss don't even agree with each other on this, let alone throwing Pfeffel the Faffy in the mix.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/08/2022 15:10

Why won’t the government do anything:

T-otally corrupt
O-fficially awful
R-insing the public for their rich mates
I-n it for themselves
E-gos can’t admit they’ve led us here
S-tuff the public

DashboardConfessional · 26/08/2022 15:13

Ultimately Rishi won't win and Truss just keeps bleating on about tax cuts because she thinks that's what voters want to hear. Unfortunately those same voters live in big expensive houses with big bills. Sorry Liz.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 26/08/2022 15:14

Gordon Brown highlighted this a few back. He suggested recalling Parliament and getting Johnson, Sunak and Truss to work together to come up with a plan because whoever wins the leadership contest it will be too late for any meaningful action. We need an emergency budget now not in October.

lucylooareyou · 26/08/2022 15:21

There not sitting down and coming up with a plan because it doesn't directly affect them. The idea that they 'care' about anything other then their reputations or ego's is laughable.

They are nowhere near the bread line, and the increase in monthly cost's is a mere drop in the ocean for them financially. Not only that, but they claim their energy bills back through expenses anyway, so I doubt they are even aware of their energy bills per month.

Funny old country this isn't it.

But fret not, Boris is happy for his country to go up in flames whilst he throws millions at Ukraine, not challenging his big wig energy company owner pals about their increasing profits - all so he can ride off into the sunset with Carrie middle fingers in the air screaming he tried all he could

Why isn’t he holding talks with Truss and Sunak and them jointly coming up with a plan that the next PM will continue with?

Another 2 weeks is too long to wait, action needed to be taken months ago. Many people will die this winter, many more will overstretch the already broken NHS. God forbid a new covid strain or bad flu season.

I honestly don’t see why the government aren’t working together on this now. Johnson, Sunak and Truss are all on the same side aren’t they? The Conservative party fought to lead this country yet we are left hanging in the balance while no one does anything.

I would have thought that with 18 months until a GE and 2 hard winters between then that they would be scrambling to help. The new price cap is 34% of the new pension (Martin Lewis this morning) - They need those votes!

Why would he, he's lost his job and he never gave a shit so why now?

Notonthestairs · 26/08/2022 15:23

It won't be an emergency budget because that will require the Office for Budget Responsibility to provide an analysis of the impact...

It will be a "fiscal event" which has a lot less oversight.

abovedecknotbelow · 26/08/2022 15:22

Why would he, he's lost his job and he never gave a shit so why now?

Because he’s still our PM and being paid?

Hes done a real number on this nation, so utterly incompetent that people are giving him a pass and expecting nothing from him.

He's abandoned the sinking ship.

I had a manager that wouldn't deal with anything "too taxing" in his last few weeks with us 😤

hummerbird · 26/08/2022 15:28

I think he is planning his return. Working with John Crudas on the petition. Then how to change the rules so that he stays on.
La Truss will accommodate him.

MsFogi · 26/08/2022 15:30

He's in Kiev getting lots of photos for his "After-dinner speaker" website, brochure and powerpoint. I think he's going to market himself (in order to make his millions) as the 'get it done in a crisis' leader.

PupInAPram · 26/08/2022 15:31

basilmint · 26/08/2022 14:53

He was in Ukraine boosting his profile as anti-Russain superhero and gathering content for his speeches on the post-PM after-dinner circuit and his autobiography.

Yep. Nailed it @basilmint

pigsDOfly · 26/08/2022 15:34

He's doing what he does best.

There's nothing in it for him now and he's bored with it so he's buggered off to do his own thing.

Surely no one's surprised.

People voted for him knowing what he's like.

And now they're going to vote for Truss.

NovaDeltas · 26/08/2022 15:35

The people voted for a dick who'd sooner are them all dead, and that's what they have.

RaRaRaspoutine · 26/08/2022 15:58

Being a cunt still, just in another country.

ChillyFloss · 26/08/2022 16:47

Boris is in Kyev, letting the world know that (and I quote) that British households would "have to endure the cost of living crisis'" because "people in Ukraine are paying with blood.". But then he was also quite happy for "the bodies to pile up" during Covid so....

the80sweregreat · 26/08/2022 16:48

Boris Johnson's words are ill timed and not very measured. He really doesn't care anymore.
