To think I was injected with water.

Ok i'm sure I wasn't but I went to a new person for Botox last month and it's wearing off already.
I've previously had Azzalure 3 times not Botox so there may be differences but that used to last at least 3 months and I was happy with the results.

The lady who used to do it moved out of the area so I researched others in my area and this person had good reviews.
I went for my consultation and although he seemed a bit (a lot) odd I booked the treatment for the following week.
It didn't look any different when I went back for my follow up appointment 2 weeks later so he topped it up for free.

It doesn't seem to have done a lot 6 weeks later. Has anyone else had both Azzalure and Botox and noticed a difference as I though Botox was the one with the best results but it's as if they injected water/nothing.

You said "i'm sure I wasn't" so why would you expect people to suggest you were?

LimeTwists · 22/08/2022 15:44

How can any of us on here possibly know?

AnotherDelphinium · 22/08/2022 15:44

Contact him again and explain you’ve still not got any results and request a top-up.

I can’t understand why you had a consultation and he seemed strange but you went back? Surely the whole point of a consultation is to make sure it’s all ok? I’m assuming you’ve checked out his credentials and registrations etc?

More fool you, then.

IamChipmunk · 22/08/2022 15:49

Yes! Ive had different results and I dont think Ive been injected with water! Mine was done by the same person.
First time had Azzalure and the latest time with Botox (aparently there is a national shortage of Azzalure!) The results haven't been as good this time and Ive noticed movement still where I didn't have it before despite having a top up.
I normally have it every 4 months and have decided that im going to have one more session and if its Botox again and not as good I wont bother continuing with it.
I have it in my frown lines and top of my head for balance.
You also might get more responses in Style and Beauty than aibu!

Could you stuff your head in the freezer for half and hour? If if comes out crunchy/solid it will most likely be water that's been injected. It's the only thing I can think of at the moment.

Oh just thought of another! Have you got access to a surveyors damp meter? That might give an indication.

I actually burst out laughing at this!

Did I really need to put “lighthearted” on it? 🙄
I asked if anyone had noticed a difference between the two treatments.

Yes all checked out but he was just odd in his manner.
Was hoping it would last a good few months and can’t afford to redo it more than I was before.
I’ll arrange to go back and see what he suggests.

Hmm... Interesting. Theoretically they should work the same but the dilutions are slightly different. I wonder if he's made an error in the dilution or has a dodgy batch.

I personally have used (as an injector) both Botox and bocoture and have had similar results with both but I haven't tried azzalure.

Don't be ridiculous.

You need a set of divining rods.

Thank you 😊 I thought the products were similar just different brand names but it definitely felt different too.
Won’t be continuing if the results are no better next time.

That’s interesting thanks, I thought Botox may be stronger than Azzalure based on the cost so I’ll ask him.

Itsvalentino · 22/08/2022 19:33

I’ve had both, and Azzulure definitely suits me better, results last 4-5 months, Botox lasted 6 weeks. Same practitioner that I’ve been going to for 5 years.

Cailleachian · 22/08/2022 19:54

Half the posters seem to be nodding along thoughtfully...ahm, yes, Azzalure, Botox, dilutions, national shortage.

The other half are like, wtf is going on here.

I thought you only did that kind of stuff if you were in Hello (or maybe there are a just a lot of celebs on Mumsnet <shrug>)

forgotoldusername · 22/08/2022 19:58

@Cailleachian you expressed what I was thinking. Like what is this sorcery they are talking about ?

Life lesson: don't let strange men inject your face

Lisa3344 · 22/08/2022 20:08

I’ve had botox several times and always have an excellent result and usually lasts up to 5 months

It's the same on threads about hairdressing. Half the posters talk about how much their Baylayge (sp?) costs and I hope I'm not alone in thinking WTF is a Baylayge?
