I'm with barclays bank but just had a text saying:
SANTAN FRAUD.A new transaction has been attempted on 18/8 at 13.54. If this wasn't you visit this website. Http://access.cancel-transaction.com

Why are you worried

It's a scam

Ffs how do people still fall for this shit

123becauseicouldntthinkofone · 18/08/2022 14:02

DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK

Biffa44 · 18/08/2022 14:02

looks like a scam text.

vodkaredbullgirl · 18/08/2022 14:03

scam

YorkshireLawyer · 18/08/2022 14:03

Do not click on the link - the text itself will be a scam and attempted fraud. If you visit the link, the criminals behind it will try to get hold of your bank/card details and take your money. Just delete and ignore.

averageavocado · 18/08/2022 14:03

Why on earth are you worried??

ZeroFuchsGiven · 18/08/2022 14:03

What are you worried about?

MonkeyDoodles · 18/08/2022 14:04

It looks quite professional but no, I have not clicked on anything. Just worried as I have just finished making a big ebay payment then received it

OP posts:
TokyoSushi · 18/08/2022 14:04

It's a scam, just delete it.

Ravenblack1 · 18/08/2022 14:05

Delete and block the number.

boingy · 18/08/2022 14:05

How on gods Green earth does it look professional?

Beyondshit · 18/08/2022 14:09

I sometimes wonder how the human race has survived

steff13 · 18/08/2022 14:11

If you're concerned call the bank, but it's a scam.

jalapenita · 18/08/2022 14:12

Why are you even asking? Surely you know it's a scam. Can't believe people fall for it

HellonHeels · 18/08/2022 14:16

Fucksake can we all stop being cunts about this!

It might be obvious to you, it wasn't to the OP - and many many other people who do fall victim to these scams.

OP, ignore and delete. If you're ever uncertain, never click on messages of this type. Hope you're OK, it's sensible to check if youre not sure.

abovedecknotbelow · 18/08/2022 14:18

It's a scam just delete it.

It's not professional at all. It doesn't even have the name of the bank written properly! And the website isn't a bank one either. These are big, big clues that it's a scam.

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 18/08/2022 14:23

That is the most obvious scam email address i've seen 🤦🏼‍♀️

gggrrrargh · 18/08/2022 14:27

I think people forget you sometimes get a scam message at the wrong moment - like when you get a ‘pay a post office fee’ one the day before your birthday and you think it might be a sent present when you wouldn’t fall for it another day. It coincided with her big eBay order.

Scam and happily ignore OP!

Any time you receive a notification or contact request from your bank, get their contact details from another place, the app if you use it or go to their website from google(NOT via the link they provided) these scams can be quite sophisticated and anyone mocking or making unkind remarks here should be ashamed of themselves

But this one isn't sophisticated

Anyone with 2 eyes and one brain can see through it

excellentday · 18/08/2022 14:41

OP don't feel silly for checking. It is a scam though and good you didn't click any links.
These are designed to catch people out, and it happened to coincide with a big payment you just made.
Thats exactly what these bastards rely on.

Absolutely no shame in double checking with someone.

ImBoilingJackie · 18/08/2022 15:01

Scam. Just bin it.

EmergencyHepNeeded · 18/08/2022 15:10

Op, if you went on that site you'd see them asking for all sorts of private financial information including passwords and account numbers. This is so that they can empty your bank account. Just delete it immediately.
