She's pictured in a bikini and denim shorts. I think she has a fantastic figure and I'd be proud to look like her at 61, even if she has had work done.
All the comments are so ageist, 'Desperate' 'put it away' embarrassing at your age' 'no dignity'.
If she were 23 years old nobody would be making such comments.

I just think if she wants to show it off it's up to her, she isn't forcing anyone to click on the articles. We don't tell women under 40 to put it away .

It’s the same reason why the earlier thread about British people abroad was pulled

Some British women absolutely love to tear down another woman who has worked hard towards her good figure

it’s considered “show offy” to display your hard work in any way other than wearing loose clothing or one pieces. Hence why it’s a race to the bottom (no pun intended) in this country where many folk feel more comfortable around people who are of a similar weight category

Aussiegirl123456 · 18/08/2022 12:01

I agree, she looks great.

Theresalwaysmoneyinthebananastand · 18/08/2022 12:06

Yeah, it's so sad that an older woman is called 'desperate' and 'pathetic' for daring to wear a bikini and be proud of their figure.
I guess they should all be hiding away and invisible after the age of 50, how dare they take pride in their bodies.
I'm glad that thread was pulled, it was horrible

She looks better than I would in that outfit and I'm 20 years younger! Good for her I say, she's worked hard and she looks great. So what if she's had work done anyway?

I expect the people commenting negatively wish they looked at good as she does.

ReeseWitherfork · 18/08/2022 12:11

Wow just googled it, she looks great!! I’m sure she has had work done but hardly overdone it. Looks like she takes care of herself. DM readers like to be miserable.

Theresalwaysmoneyinthebananastand · 18/08/2022 12:12

Very true, it's usually jealousy.
And agree there's no shame in having work done, but if someone looks good at 50 plus they're always shot down with "Well she's had loads of work done "

If I looked like her I would go to Tesco in that bikini. She looks fab and fair fucks to her.

Theresalwaysmoneyinthebananastand · 18/08/2022 12:12

Her stomach is honestly way better than mine and she's 30 years older 😂

She looks great.

I think everybody should wear whatever they want at whatever age, and I agree that Carol has a great figure for her age and looks good etc. But she (and I'm talking specifically about her alone) is definitely a bit of a desperate attention-seeker. She posts what she does because she seems to really need people to her she's hot. If there's nothing wrong with 'showing off' why pretend she isn't?

Theresalwaysmoneyinthebananastand · 18/08/2022 12:18

Millions of women post pictures in bikinis etc but aren't accused of showing off, they just happen to be young

I like her, especially since her time on I'm a Celebrity, and don't understand the hate, and to Amanda Holden too who I think is funny.

Barrawarra · 18/08/2022 12:23

I agree with you tearing down women for how they look is not cool, and older women are held to different unfair standards. But personally I can’t celebrate all the butchering of her body for the consumption of others. I find it sad that we live in a society where how women look is so important that they will get all kinds of cosmetic surgeries just to feel ok.

Mercurial123 · 18/08/2022 12:24

You read the Daily Mail so surely it comes as no surprise?

BigFatLiar · 18/08/2022 12:29

People can wear what they want provided it's appropriate for the location. No reason why you should have to stop wearing bikinis just because you've put on a bit of weight.

CV may well be looking for a bit of publicity her career after Countdown didn't really take off.

AmyDudley · 18/08/2022 12:31

I don't actually like her, because of her political views. But she can wear what the hell she likes, she has a great figure - she is the same age as me and I'd wear those shorts if I had the legs for it (I don't). I've no idea if she has had 'work' done - none of my business, but really there are far bigger things for the DM to get its knickers in a knot over.

Justcallmebebes · 18/08/2022 12:33

Or you get the opposite as with Helen Mirren being photographed in her bikini. The DM was carrying on like she was 120 and nobody had ever seen a woman over 60 in a bikini

knightsinwhitesatin · 18/08/2022 12:34

Daily Mail and it’s readers aren’t known for their humanity so I’m not sure why you’re surprised

Whiskeypowers · 18/08/2022 12:35

She has a great figure. even if it has been enhanced shall we say along the way .

i’m a bit confused about who she’s trying to reach with these sorts of pictures though and why she feels the need to share them.

i think people are affronted by / find it desperate and make those sorts of comments as in the mail because she is a highly intelligent educated woman and this sort of posing with fake breasts and a Botox face is perceived to be the preserve of a different sort of woman altogether historically. And also because mail readers are well Mail readers

BitOutOfPractice · 18/08/2022 12:40

Because the DM hates women. Especially if they have the temerity to be too thin / too fat or too successful / not successful enough or too young / too old or too many kids / not enough kids or working / not working. Just having a vagina is enough to make the DM hate you.

Or perhaps the DM is just an online newspaper that knows that women hate other women who have the temerity to be too thin / too fat etc…

… and so publish deliberately crafted articles to get loads of bitchy comments that tell advertisers their content is “engaging”

Cigarettesaftersex1 · 18/08/2022 12:44

Great figure but I'm not sure what the goal is for anyone who posts bikini pics

ShirleyPhallus · 18/08/2022 12:45

I actually find it quite depressing to see the sheer number of women who continually post almost nude pictures which are then picked up by the press. It becomes an issue because of shows like love island which are encouraging young people to try and be famous for no other reason than because they’re attractive. I’d really love to see fewer gratuitous bikini shots and a bit more emphasis on achievements of young women.

If someone is on a beach and gets papped by a journo then it’s one thing, but getting a bikini on just to take a selfie and then post it to SM for gratification… that is sad. I don’t care if it’s Vorders or some nobody, the ongoing need for validation / clicks / likes is sad.

smooththecat · 18/08/2022 12:45

YABU, it’s the Daily Mail comments section, dregs of humanity on full blast.
