She's pictured in a bikini and denim shorts. I think she has a fantastic figure and I'd be proud to look like her at 61, even if she has had work done.
All the comments are so ageist, 'Desperate' 'put it away' embarrassing at your age' 'no dignity'.
If she were 23 years old nobody would be making such comments.

Interesting. I think sexiness is very personal to what you find sexy, whereas beauty is a bit more 'set in stone'. I can certainly find older men sexy (I'm 49!) and it's about charm, confidence, charisma, emotional maturity, ability to listen etc etc combined with at least vague 'attractiveness'.

Theresalwaysmoneyinthebananastand · 18/08/2022 13:37

I do think that older women can be seen as sexy. Jennifer Coolidge still is seen that way by many, in fact, many women in their 50s and beyond. Carol Vorderman said she has a lot of 'special friends'.
Ok maybe a 90 year old won't be, but it's certainly not something that suddenly drops off after 40.

Yes I was thinking a bit more advanced in years than 40 😀

Like I can think of some 80 something old women who I think are beautiful, but can't think of many sex bombs approaching 90.

goshy · 18/08/2022 13:41

@allyouneedismarmite 😆

MzHz · 18/08/2022 13:43

anyone Who reads that bollocks shows themselves up for a total prick.

I totally agree with that, as well as your descriptors for a sexy older man.

If you were to ask a man what he classified as sexiness in a woman, do you think he would say 'charm, confidence, charisma, emotional maturity, ability to listen etc?'

I mean, maybe you know men who really would be rubbing their knees in excitement at those qualities but I personally can't think of many men who wouldn't be zoned in on certain physical attributes (combined with a certain confidence, yes). Maybe I'm being horribly sexist about men.
Sorry all you deep thinking men out there!

Orangeblossomfield · 18/08/2022 13:46

What does 'thirsty' mean, in the context of CV?

goshy · 18/08/2022 13:49

eager for validation

sundayvibeswig22 · 18/08/2022 13:54

I think fair play to her. She looks great!

SpidersAreShitheads · 18/08/2022 13:59

DillDanding · 18/08/2022 13:33

I tbh ink any ‘celeb’ posting pics of themselves in a bikini for attention is a twit, whatever their age.

^This in a nutshell.

CV has a phenomenal intellect and previously was a great role model for girls, showing that you can be attractive and brainy without having to resort to flaunting your body for cheap social media likes. But not any more.

She's had an absolute ton of plastic surgery to her face and body, so all the comments about "giving hope" are rubbish - unless you're planning on spending thousands on surgery too.

She's constantly in the media showing off her arse and boobs in tight clothing, and when I've seen her in interviews, she seems to have morphed into someone who's quite vapid and image-obsessed.

I'm not a fan of any woman, regardless of their age, who feels that the only way to achieve "stardom" and get attention is to post sexy pictures. It's derogatory, boring and repetitive. I'm sick of women being famous just because they look good in a bikini. And yes, I apply the same principles to men too.

I think it's just doubly depressing for CV because she's such an intelligent woman, but in recent years it's just a barrage of photos of her various (surgically enhanced) body parts.

NB - just in the interests of being fair, I just looked through her social media before I posted this. Yep. It's 90% "look at my tits/arse/how skinny I am now". She's also heavily heavily promoting a juice only eating plan.

Just a hard pass all round from me.

I do also think she looks even better at 60 than 20 and it's nice to see that it's not always just the inverse that's possible

Was she a celeb at 20?

waterlego · 18/08/2022 14:09

Agree completely @SpidersAreShitheads. I cringe every time I see a story about her because there is no ‘story’, it’s always just CV posting photos of herself on SM which showcase her surgically enhanced body parts.

I feel the same about young women whose fame is based on them being fuckable and sharing pictures of themselves standing around in bikinis or underwear.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 18/08/2022 14:12

Keyansier · 18/08/2022 12:23

I like her, especially since her time on I'm a Celebrity, and don't understand the hate, and to Amanda Holden too who I think is funny.

This. I think Carol looks fab. Had lots done to herself but meh.. who cares?

Also love Amanda Holden too. Don't get the berating of these 2 women. Maybe they should just do the decent thing and grow old gracefully blah blah blah... nah fuck that! Grin

Not shocked at the being in the DM tbh. Also I am VERY glad that 'Brits are ugly fat smelly pasty gammon' thread got pulled. It was fucking vile.

Same with Liz Hurley. She’s famous for having a hot bod at her age and not a lot else.

I'm going to ask for my last comment to be removed as I feel it would be unkind if CV ever did read it.

helenaaise · 18/08/2022 15:02

She looks well and healthy. But I don't like her outfit, I wouldn't like it for any age. I would never have recognised her though, and I preferred her dark hair which was always in great condition.

I've forgotten the question! Daily Mail readers being rude, ageist and misogynistic, of course they are.

Arbesque · 18/08/2022 15:10

She can wear what she likes, and has a great figure. But anyone posing around for the press and taking selfies of themselves in bikinis is an attention seeker.

SpidersAreShitheads · 19/08/2022 10:31

KimberleyClark · 18/08/2022 14:13

Yep, Liz Hurley is another one.

And I see Amanda Holden has been mentioned here too. I think she's the worst of the lot because not only does she appear to be in some kind of competition to see how often she can appear half naked in the press, she's also a shitty person. She was an absolute cow to Les Dennis on Celeb Big Brother all those years ago, she utterly humiliated him in front of millions of viewers. She has the morals of an alley cat, and that's being harsh on an alley cat. Just for balance, I don't even particularly like Les Dennis but she was just nasty, then of course while still married to him she had the affair with Neil Morrissey too. Attention-seeking and utterly selfish.

But setting her aside, I agree absolutely with you @waterlego. Porn-style, sexy poses with increasingly provocative statements coupled with very little clothing is apparently is all that's needed to be famous. It's always been an issue, but social media has made it all infinitely worse.

And it's as @Arbesque says - absolutely women should be able to wear what they want, when they want. But it's the courting of attention and the quest for stardom based on striking a sexy pose while half-naked which is so utterly depressing.

ShirleyJackson · 19/08/2022 10:38

It’s a shame, really. Carol Vorderman was famous for being brainy, but she seems to have gone backwards.

Cam22 · 19/08/2022 10:51

She deserves it all. She’s hideously embarrassing. No 23 year old would be so desperate. I wish she would she just go away. 🤮

Cam22 · 19/08/2022 10:52

Amanda Holden is another desperate creature. So utterly past it.

5128gap · 19/08/2022 11:03

Cam22 · 19/08/2022 10:52

Passed what exactly? I'm a fan of neither woman, but many people are, and they both continue to make money, maintain their careers, and seem generally confident and rather pleased with themselves.
To me 'desperate' is an unhappy person who tries increasingly extreme ways to get attention/recognition without success. That applies to neither AH or CV.

The majority (not all) of the commenters on the Daily mail site are nasty and bitter in what they say about peoples appearance. It doesn’t matter which celeb it is - ulrika jonnsen is told she is too thin and a sun-damaged old hag; Michelle Keeghan is called vein and accused of having plastic surgery, with negative comments around her lack of child bearing; Andrea corr’s pictures were commented on with “manly figure!” Etc. Etc.

you have to laugh at these sad and pathetic people who are obviously so unhappy that they go on the DM website and type horrible things about other peoples appearances.

Greyhare · 19/08/2022 11:13

CV annoys the hell out of me purely for the fact that she says her figure changed to the current big boobs and rounded butt because of the menopause and not the surgeons knife!

ShirleyPhallus · 19/08/2022 11:15

I think Amanda Holden has an amazing figure and looks great, her facial enhancements are getting a bit much but she does look fantastic

But it gives me the ick that she gets her teenage daughters to take the sexy photos of her, half dressed. Same ick I get from Liz Hurley’s son being her personal sexy photographer. So weird and inappropriate.
