It's got a train station with steam trains.

Only for the railway (I've been there) it was/ is very popular as a filming location I believe.

It's on the North York Moors. The north York Moors railway stops there.

Yep, as others have said, for the steam railway - on the line to Whitby. Lovely part of the country.

Is it where they filmed Heartbeat? I think we went there on a daytrip while on holiday, it was nice but difficult to park and very hot, so we didn't stay for long.

Yes! We stopped there there on a steam train journey. The station is where Hogsmeade station was filmed in Harry Potter. The village is where Heartbeat was filmed - I’ve never seen it but it’s a nice place to visit. There is also a waterfall. We had a great day there.

If you're in that area then Robin Hoods Bay is lovely. Just make sure you're not there at high tide!

Yes. I expect most people my age (63) have heard of it. We stayed in a holiday cottage there when DD was little. I saw Heartbeat being filmed as I drove past the garage.

Is more than one selling them now? Bloody hell! I "only" saw one while I was there, though they had a lot of window space. WTF is that about?

Malyons Spout waterfall is a lovely walk from the village - lots of rocks to clamber on and v pretty. Take the footpath that runs alongside the hotel.

If you are nearby then yes have a visit but i would not go out of your way to visit.

It's a stunning area. Pickering is pretty too. And you're near to Whitby and rye beautiful Yorkshire coast.

Most people seem to visit from the steam railway that runs from Pickering , if I remember rightly.

I visited once I remember it being nice and there being sheep everywhere just wandering around!
