What's up with female children wearing identical dresses for a family occasion ?

I checked into a 4 star hotel last week where a the buffet after a family occasion was taking place in a private room. I didn't know them.

Two sisters, same outfits then repeated twice more with other sisters.

Among the adults, overblown in Karl Lagerfeld and Gucci and goodness knows what other designer short black cocktail dresses and killer heels. Long dyed blond hair, spray tan, botox etc

One attendee had a long tabard made of netting over her dress. Another mourner seemed to be in a full on mourning gown. Things I've not seen before.

Real funerals of 'name your district ?'

Not sure what you are asking or commenting on, or what you are upset about or shocked at or confused at

I really don't get what you're saying. You had a good gawp at strangers in mourning and didn't like what you saw? Yeah, that's pretty unreasonable.

luxxlisbon · 16/08/2022 18:34

Don’t really understand the title vs the content.

Anyway, ‘Real funerals of 'name your district ?' this is a very tasteless joke.

ShirleyPhallus · 16/08/2022 18:34

I’m sure this will be a terribly unpopular opinion but I think it’s quite cute seeing children in matching outfits

I wouldn’t judge what anyone was wearing to a funeral though (unless it was nipple tassels or something) that’s pretty tasteless

iklboo · 16/08/2022 18:36

I have a few questions:

Why is the hotel being four star relevant?
Why is the fact that some family were dressed the same a problem?
What does it matter what other mourners were wearing?
Why do you care?

TeapotTitties · 16/08/2022 18:36

By 'female children' do you mean girls?

I've no idea what the problem is. I mean people like to wear certain things and some don't.

litlealligator · 16/08/2022 18:36

When I was a kid me and my sister always wanted the same dresses. Parents would buy us both the same to prevent arguments and sibling jealousy!

Prinnny · 16/08/2022 18:38

You’re mocking the appearance of mourners at a funeral? Classy.

FridayiminlovewithRobertSmith · 16/08/2022 18:38

Pretty vulgar to critique a funeral.

I also find children in matching outfits cute.

scrivette · 16/08/2022 18:38

I often dress my two boys in the same top, they are the age where they would complain if they didn't like it. I think it looks nice.

loosebutton · 16/08/2022 18:38

I'm a little confused. Is this about the child siblings wearing matching clothes - nothing wrong with that. Or the fashion choice of some mourners - nothing wrong with them wearing what ever they feel most comfortable in to mourn ffs.

Yeah it's a bit nasty OP

Coughee · 16/08/2022 18:40

You're not really wanting people to join you in sneering at people who were at a funeral are you? What do you think that says about you?

To me it says the OP must be desperately unhappy with the way she looks.

Otherwise I can't fathom why she'd be slating other women and girls like this.

DigitalGhost · 16/08/2022 18:42

My girls 5 & 2 love wearing the same clothes. My mum used to do it to me and my brother's Grin

BabyDreamers · 16/08/2022 18:43

I don't see the problem. You have more than 1 child and see an outfit you like so buy one for each of them. What's wrong with that.

namechangetheworld · 16/08/2022 18:43

Probably the same thing that's "up" with little boys being dressed in matching outfits - the parents think it's cute. And it is!

MichelleScarn · 16/08/2022 18:50

Like other posters, bit confused that on seeing a funeral your first thought is to mock the mourners, rather than having sympathy?

Lou573 · 16/08/2022 18:52

My 2 love to match 🤷‍♀️

baconbarm · 16/08/2022 18:55

I love matching siblings, especially at family events. I also am a fan of girl/boy siblings in matching dress/shirt combos. I think it's so cute!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 16/08/2022 19:00

Aye, we get your drift, we can see who you are wanting to sneer at. Nice.

Louise0701 · 16/08/2022 19:02

You’ve gotten to this stage of your life and never seen siblings in matching clothing? Have you grown up under a rock?

ManateeFair · 16/08/2022 19:10

How would you feel if you were mourning a loved one and someone took that opportunity to have a good old stare at your family’s clothes and then mocked them online? What the hell is wrong with you?

AnnieDav · 16/08/2022 19:12

My Mum used to dress my sisters and I the same a lot so she could spot us easily in a crowd!

FlibbertyGiblets · 16/08/2022 19:16

You okay, OP? I mean, it's not every day that one receives a unanimous YABU, it must sting a bit.

YABU btw.
