To think my friend’s comment was rude and out of order?

So as explained on my previous thread I have tickets for myself and DD to go to Las Vegas to see Adele’s residency ‘weekends with Adele’ in December after it got postponed this January.
So was chatting to my friend about it today and her response was “ don’t you think it’s a bit inappropriate to be taking DD on such an expensive trip like this when so many are struggling with the cost of living crisis”. AIBU to think her comment was rude and out of order? She went on to call DD a “spoilt brat” too! Just to be clear she’s definitely not a spoilt brat!

Yeah I should have said something back at the time but I was quite taken back my her comment. Waiting to see if she apologises but if she doesn’t then I will definitely fall out with her

I do kind of get the impression you’re posting these threads just to keep telling people that you’re taking your daughter an expensive holiday though, so perhaps your friend just thought you were showing off.

It definitely didn’t come across as showing off when I was speaking to her! And I only made this second thread as I was quite taken back and shocked by her comment

I’m all against bragging and for being sensitive when talking with struggling friends but I don’t think it is possible somehow to justify her words. To be honest it’s so absurd that I wouldn’t even accept her apology.
