So as explained on my previous thread I have tickets for myself and DD to go to Las Vegas to see Adele’s residency ‘weekends with Adele’ in December after it got postponed this January.
So was chatting to my friend about it today and her response was “ don’t you think it’s a bit inappropriate to be taking DD on such an expensive trip like this when so many are struggling with the cost of living crisis”. AIBU to think her comment was rude and out of order? She went on to call DD a “spoilt brat” too! Just to be clear she’s definitely not a spoilt brat!

A friend should be happy lifting you up, being pleased for you, not making you feel horrible.

Whatever you do, don't let this nasty piece of work (she's not your friend) stick in your mind when you and your DD set off for the holiday of a lifetime. This sort of thing can circle endlessly in your mind and could take the edge off the fun times with your DD. She doesn' t deserve that and neither do you.

The worst part of this was your daughter being used to get at you. Your daughter was probably looking excited and happy and triggered this woman's poisonous jealousy. Kick her out of your mind and enjoy the Adele trip.

I haven't voted but it's weird to do multiple threads about it. Not actually doing it. It makes me wonder how often you bring it up IRL. Maybe your friend is tired of hearing about it or something. Who knows.
