Can I wear crocs to drive?

Posting for traffic.

I have a driving lesson tomorrow and I'd usually wear my trainers to be safe, but it's bloody hot and I usually live in crocs (outside of lessons).

I know you shouldn't drive in flip flops, but are crocs safe?? Or shall I stick to trainers?

I know it's a minor problem, but I want to stay safe on the roads.

I think if you use the heel strap and can still feel the peddles you might be ok. I don't wear crocs but they might be too clunky.

Your instructor will prob get final say!

I almost always drive bare-foot but I recall driving in wooden Scholl sandals back in the 70s, absolutely no feeling whatsoever! I took my test bare-foot and I've driven in crocs but mine are very wide and I don't like doing so.
