🤐

Houseofbloodymen · 08/08/2022 16:49

Can they get tangled up accidently?

canina · 08/08/2022 16:49

I'm looking for solidarity
(if I get enough support I will cut the feckers)

Lol 🤣

SpiderVersed · 08/08/2022 17:00

I have some in the garage. Because I hate them, they are my very effective tool for ensuring I shut and lock the garage door promptly.

Sunfriedegg · 08/08/2022 17:01

I hate wind chimes, people hang them up in the garden near the neighbours who can hear them night and day. Our neighbours had such noisy ones the DC couldn’t sleep. If you like them at least have the decency to silence them when you’re not actively listening to them. Grrrr

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 08/08/2022 17:06

I will swap windchimes for late night wine bottles being chucked in the recycling underneath my bedroom window.
yanbu.

canina · 08/08/2022 17:08

Yes why have them, especially if you are at work or away a lot. In fact just why have them?

OP posts:
herrewegoagain · 08/08/2022 17:12

Cut them!!!

Popsicle33 · 08/08/2022 17:14

What a shame. I love mine!

sunflowerhappiness · 08/08/2022 17:15

I can't believe you've started this thread just as it sounds like my neighbours are adding another set to their garden!! These sound louder than the others, like someone is playing a xylophone in the garden! Bloody hate them!! Wind chimes are antisocial if someone lives on an estate and should be banned immediately!

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 08/08/2022 17:17

I do like the sound but not immediately next door! Can drive you potty! YANBU

nomarmaladeplease · 08/08/2022 17:20

I like them and don't have neighbours close enough to be bothered. They seem less annoying than a lot of other things people inflict on their neighbors, but MN hates them, so you'll receive plenty of support here.

Giggorata · 08/08/2022 17:20

I like mine. I don't think my neighbours are within hearing distance to hear the faint tinkle. I wouldn't mind some longer ones that go bong, too.

I can think of loads more much worse neighbourly noises, like constantly screaming or shouting children or adults, revving cars, chain saws, lawn mowers, music, etc.

Then there are things like intrusive lighting (security, Xmas or general), barbecue and bonfire smells…

If my neighbours came and said it bothered them, I would silence them at night.

vodkaredbullgirl · 08/08/2022 17:22

I'll have your wind chimes and you have next doors kids bashing a football about my

HeythereDelilah101 · 08/08/2022 17:24

I used to have a neighbour with a really loud clinky clanky one, a row of terraced houses… the chime was just below my kids bedroom window. So selfish. It was so irritating!!! She moved thank god, but if a neighbour now put one up I would say something. I really don’t it it, it’s just pure ignorance.

LeevMarie · 08/08/2022 17:28

I'm with you, op. Pointless, antisocial things.

Having said that, I've spent the whole day at home today trying to concentrate at work and have been disturbed almost constantly by various fucking dogs barking. My nerves are completely shredded. I'd take wind chimes over that any day.

I6344 · 08/08/2022 17:55

I absolutely hate wind chimes. Fair enough if you don't have neighbours close, but if you do they are the biggest pain in the ass. I don't know if you should cut them but definitely tell your neighbours to take them down.

My old neighbours had them and even kept them up when there were bad storms. Drove the rest of us bonkers. My other neighbour stole them which maybe wasn't the right thing to do but I definitely appreciated it 😂

BunnyHopDance · 08/08/2022 18:03

Cut them. It’s antisocial to have them so I see no problem with cutting them.

Popsicle33 · 08/08/2022 17:14

What a shame. I love mine!

You wouldn’t love them for long if you were my neighbour 😅

TeapotTitties · 08/08/2022 18:07

I hate them and the selfish, anti-social shits who own them.

StuntNun · 08/08/2022 18:08

Having been through this twice I can confirm that the only solution is to buy even bigger and more irritating wind chimes than the ones your neighbours have.

PimientoRojo · 08/08/2022 18:11

I love them.

That would be no solution at all for me because I can't sleep while the stupid things are going off in the breeze.
