To ask if anyone else has noticed a rise in PMing on here?

I namechange all the time and don't post very frequently, but I've been her since 2007.

Just over the last month or so I've noticed people randomly PMing me to ask me about things I've written on a thread, that could be asked on the thread. Has anyone noticed this too?

I don't mean where there's been an arrangement to PM people privately just people randomly messaging me to ask about something I've posted.

I've never had an unsolicited pm ever, and I've beenon here since 2011.

I posted on the sex topic for advice recently had a few men pm me which really pissed me off

Interesting, it's so strange. I had a random one when I posted about my children being tall and a few other ones too that could easily have been posted on the thread.

Yes and I just ignore.

I have had it a couple of times this year for the first time but they were requests for a bit more personal experience so they may assume I wouldn’t want to put that on a thread.

Maybe they are worried you would miss it in the main body of a thread if it’s something you have posted about on a busy thread?

I posted on the topic of short men a while back (saying height doesn't bother me) and I got a weird pm from a random man. I never replied.

I am feeling left out as I have had very few PMs ever. Clearly doing something wrong with my posts.

I had a pm from that thread too. My post was about a friend’s child being unusually short and that seemed to prompt a flurry of pms from one poster. I wonder if s/he pm’d everyone on there?

I have been on here for years and never had a PM.

Had one immediately after posting on the thread about my child's height!

I've had one from someone wanting to know what my DH does for a living as I posted on the 'professional job' thread ostensibly for research reasons. Or maybe they're trying to get DH fired. Like I'd tell some randomer where my DH works anyway 😂

My person wanted to know if my daughters are the tallest in their class (hilarious given they're both in secondary school).

Imagine being the stranger who contacts mothers to ask for details about their children.

I had a few after posting on a child height thread too!

I've had less recently than I used to, but I no longer use just one name (privacy) so that could be why.

I've received spam and petitions, or information asked for on a thread. Also thanks from people I've agreed with or backed up, also people asking about trolling as we're not allowed to discuss it on the thread. One or two men, peculiar messages wanting to talk, those are ignored and reported. I get the impression, from past threads, that they contact quite a few people.

You can lock your PM box so that you won't receive any.

I have done this. It stops twats sending twatty messages. Anyone who has something to say to me can say it on the threads, not try to be abusive behind the scenes.

Just checked and I haven't had one for 8 years! Feeling left out now 😂

I haven't received one for almost two months, and I have two blocked usernames on my blocked users list!
