To think my hair looks disgusting??

First wash after a bad hair appointment and now it’s not styled I think it looks even worse

People keep saying it looks nice but I think they are just being kind. Please say the truth

it’s the multiple tones and how obviously they are not blended.

Looks absolutely fine

MozzarellaMonster · 02/08/2022 22:36

Not the best photo to get an idea of the overall hair / look but from the one you've posted it looks nice.

Ihatethenewlook · 02/08/2022 22:36

Its not terrible for an amateur home job. I’d be very pissed off if I came home from a salon with that though

KILM · 02/08/2022 22:36

I think it looks nice! I can see you've got a bit more dark colour on one bit than another but thats only because you've highlighted the tone being uneven in your post so i've gone looking. But its not in a way that looks weird and its definitely not severe enough for someone to notice -i say this as somrone who microscopically analyses flaws in myself!!
If you arent happy though, can you go back to the salon?

DillDanding · 02/08/2022 22:38

Can't see anything wrong with it. It just looks like ordinary hair to me.

Sadly not. I did another post on this and I was never rude or angry but I did say I didn’t like it and looked upset. He messaged me two days later telling me I’ll need to find a new hairdresser after charging me close to £300.

That's quite terrible, not blended at all, you can see a clear difference in colours from the front to the back.

I'd be really pissed off. How much did you pay?

LazyJayne · 02/08/2022 22:42

I think that’s nice, what aren’t I seeing!?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/08/2022 22:44

its not evenly coloured and blended- would I be pissed off if I was you- yes/ would I have noticed had you not posted a close up stating you were unhappy- no

Am I looking at a different picture to everyone else? The back half of the head is a completely different colour to the front. It’s bizarre??

SpeckofDustUponMySoul · 02/08/2022 22:46

It really doesn't look that great, especially considering you spent so much!

FlorettaB · 02/08/2022 22:55

I’d take loads of pictures and send a couple to the hairdresser with a letter saying that you are very unhappy about the quality of the work done - as you told him at the time - and that his response of contacting you two days later and telling you that you’ll need to find a new hairdresser is wholly inadequate. You have been left £300+ out of pocket and needing to see another hairdresser to make good his work. Ask him how he proposes to remedy this?

Exactly … it looks like my hair colour has three distinct sections. When it should all be blended.

The colour I was aiming for (which I knew I wouldn’t get first time but I was told second) was a very cool toned blonde. This isn’t even close.

whereamu · 02/08/2022 22:56

If you hadn't pointed it out I wouldn't have noticed it in real life.
A picture which is still and looked at closely does show it hasn't been done well though.
Really annoying for you.
What did you ask for?

WeeHaggisFace · 02/08/2022 22:57

To be honest (from an ex hairdresser) it's not great. Does the person work in a chain? You can still complain, and request someone else fixes it. Even if they own it you can still go back and complain but I personally wouldn't trust them the fix it even if they offered.

iworkatthesecret · 02/08/2022 22:57

Maybe this is a better photo? To me it looks like stripes … dark brunette, copper and very warm blonde.

This may change things slightly, was it a colour correction?

Unfortunately he’s also hacked it and took off probably 2” more than we agreed. There’s noting I can do to fix that apart from extension - which as my hair is very thick they are just a nightmare and not something I want again.

I can’t stop crying over this mess. I don’t have much confidence anyway

Dunnoburt · 02/08/2022 23:02

I think it's lovely!

ShadowoftheFall · 02/08/2022 23:04

It’s hair. It grows.

WeeHaggisFace · 02/08/2022 23:06

You need a decent hairdresser to take a look. You 100% need a toner and future appointment with someone you trust/has a good reputation in colour correction.

Changing colour is never easy and people usually have to go through an awkward phase to get end results but it should have been explained to you if that was the situation. It doesn't look like great work tbh but it doesn't look absolutely awful either.

Frazzled2207 · 02/08/2022 23:12

I have seen far far worse hair disasters on here.

it’s possibly not what you asked for , and the hairdresser should be named and shamed for not offering to fix it, but honestly in the meantime it looks fine

FlissyPaps · 02/08/2022 23:16

OP, the condition of your hair looks absolutely fine! Doesn’t look damaged so please don’t panic! I am sure you will be able to achieve a desire colour.

I think it looks a bit brassy, I really recommend Milkshake Purple toning shampoo. It’s brilliant for an ashy blonde look.

Though I’d be furious if I paid up to £300 and wasn’t happy.

FlorettaB · 02/08/2022 23:27

Oh please don’t cry over this.

I think that you deserve to get your money back because he is a professional and he should have given you a more even result but it’s not ‘disgusting’ or anything to be ashamed about. There’s a lot of distance between ‘not the expected result for £300+‘ and awful.

If you want to see true hair disasters, watch some of the Brad Mondo videos of what people have done to their hair home bleaching. You still have a healthy head of hair.

When you feel a bit better you could try playing with styles. If you move the parting or plait part or all of it you might find something you’re happy with.
