To think my hair looks disgusting??

First wash after a bad hair appointment and now it’s not styled I think it looks even worse

People keep saying it looks nice but I think they are just being kind. Please say the truth

it’s the multiple tones and how obviously they are not blended.

OP, the condition of your hair looks absolutely fine! Doesn’t look damaged so please don’t panic! I am sure you will be able to achieve a desire colour.

I think it looks a bit brassy, I really recommend Milkshake Purple toning shampoo. It’s brilliant for an ashy blonde look.

Though I’d be furious if I paid up to £300 and wasn’t happy.

It’s not lifted light enough to be ‘ashy’ it’s warm/honey toned because that’s the level of depth it’s at. If she tried purple shampoo on it it will get worse not better leave well alone.
On a more important note OP I mean this in a nice way but you’re completely dramatising the situation, it’s not as light as you wanted but it IS nice, and looks well done from what you’ve posted, it’s quite an on trend look right now and the stylist probably mistakenly thought you’d want and know this.

It’s really not a big deal, as you’ve admitted you have already been informed it would be a journey to get to your goal colour as you can only lift hair as light as it will safely allow, would you rather be ashy light blonde in one sitting but totally fried and damaged?! It’s a comb dear, not a magic wand.

Sunnysundays33 · 02/08/2022 23:31

It's terrible that they haven't rectified the situation, it's not what you asked for and they have charged full price! Crazy, hope you have left reviews on social media etc x

Jesus Christ did you READ the while post?! They explained that the goal, wasn’t possible in one appointment and that it was a work in progress they did exactly what they said they’d do. She’s being a whiner stop enabling the spoilt behaviour

Closetbeanmuncher · 02/08/2022 23:38

It’s not discussing but they haven’t toned it correctly if at all.

Blue toner on roots, blue/violet on ends and you’ll be laughing. I recommend wella colour fresh.

Closetbeanmuncher · 02/08/2022 23:38

**disgusting

But I genuinely don’t care what’s on trend. I like what I like and I said to then I don’t like warm colours on me at all.

I was told two sessions it would take a to get to a cool blonde with grey and this is so far from that - then I do feel lied to. They have also clearly panicked as they told me to find a new hairdresser.

I'd be upset for 300, but it's not disgusting. Were you still due your second appointment to lift it more, or was this after the second?

I was told two sessions. I had a full consultation, strand test, showed the colour I wanted to achieve. I’m no where near close to that colour.

I had cancer in my teen years and lost all my hair, so yes I am precious about having it the way I pay someone to do it. I don’t care if that makes me a whiner.

First treatment. He then said he wouldn’t do my hair again.

I honestly wouldn’t notice , if I scrutinise the photo I can see that some of it is different colours so maybe not what you expect for 300 quid but it’s not something I would even notice certainly doesn’t look disgusting

Frazzled2207 · 03/08/2022 07:56

The word “disgusting” is a bit ridiculous OP. You have nice hair and it looks fine.

why did he refuse to offer you a second appointment? What were his exact words? Surely that is key here because it looks fixable to me even if you don’t like it

Elsiid · 03/08/2022 14:49

Honestly it's not great but it's fixable.

You cannot get to cool blonde from darker hair without either damage or a stage of warm blonde between bleaching sessions.

You've had highlights/balyage in the past, which is why your ends are lighter. As you plan on going lighter in the next session blending this would be silly and would cause unneccessary damage.

Given the end goal I can see little wrong with the pics you've posted. You're at that between stage that no-one loves but if you want ash blonde and you're naturally dark it's that or fry your hair to fuck. I'd tell you to find a new stylist too if you were pushing me to lighten your past what I thought it could take. I'd rather than than you blame me when your hair starts snapping off.

I went to this person as there’s a relatively new technique which can actually make you go 8-9 shades lighter. As I’m aware how long the older technique can take. And why I would have actually avoided it completely if I would have been left with this dreadful colour:

There are new bleaches which can lift upto 8-9 shades but this is dependent upon a lot of things (hair condition, hair thickness, previous treatments, the weather (literally bleach lifts quicker when it's warm and moist)). This should have been explained to you and given you were warned it could take two sessions I think it probably was but you've opted not to listen to the bits you didn't like.

If that darker peice in the second pic is your naturtal colour the stylist did well lifting your hair. One more session will give you the result you are looking for.

It’s not a new bleach. It’s a new technique. As I already explained.

Why would you automatically assume I didn’t listen to the parts I didn’t want to hear? Bizarre conclusion to reach based on nothing.

I literally went in for a full consultation as I had my hair styled for an event. Strand test and still have the text conversation of him saying it’s going to be 2 appointments.

And no a second appointment won’t give me that result as I’ve already consulted with other hairdressers now.
