Just have a groom of my very fluffy cat, and found this on his tummy area. Should I be worried?!

My cat's nipples are staggered! I was amazed. As in, not paired up - they're all uneven, although he has the same number on each side. I can see how that would be quite useful if he was feeding kittens, but it surprised me.

I am not much of a zoologist, it turns out.

My old ginger Tom ( he passed away at the grand old age of 21 a couple of years ago) had a random nipple on his tummy area. It looked just like your photo. However I guess if it was a nipple you would have noticed it before now?

He should have another four at least, keep rummaging.

I guess I should have seen it before, BUT, in my defence, he’s very fluffy and hasn’t always been amenable to tummy stroking.

Sorry meant ONE random nipple on his whole tummy ha ha!

Based on the colouring of the cat, are you sure it's male? It looks tortoiseshell in colour and 99.9% of those are female!

(I agree with nipple though, but do male cats have them?? I've only ever had females!!)

I did the same with our small male dog. I freaked out thinking it was a tick and DH had to tel me it was a nipple. I'd just never noticed it on him before because he was so fluffy. 😂
