What is this on my cat??

Just have a groom of my very fluffy cat, and found this on his tummy area. Should I be worried?!

If it makes you feel any better, not all male mammals have nipples. Rats don't.

I was enlarging the pic wondering what I was supposed to be seeing apart from the obvious nipple. She can't mean that, I thought, 🤣🤣🤣🤣

DS called me in a panic to tell me he'd found found similar lump on our cat.

"Is there another one on the other side?"

As a result of your post I had a good look at my cat and, oh my God! she has two pointy things on the top of her head. Rather like this diagram.🐱

I don't know what's going on ear but it's off to the Vet first thing...

@WonderingWanda - I can blow raspberries on Jazzy's belly. He comes up & flumps on his back for me to do it (disclaimer - he purrs to the beat of his own unique drum).

In my defence for posting this next gem, I have always had female cats. You can see where this is going can't you?
My cat is prone to coming home with scratches and little wounds, so i was concerned when I saw what looked like a red spot on his nether regions. Looked closer and saw that he was washing his willy!! 😹

Don't feel bad OP, they're easy to miss. I have a very fluffy female dog and I've never seen all her nipples despite the fact that I brush her regularly.

She about cat size too.

I was visiting BIL and his late Staffie Stan and asked what the huge skin tage was near his rear end

BIL says ...it's whats left of his knackersack....

I hadn't realised they dont just cut them of but nick a small hole them squeeze the testicles out leaving the sack behind which eventually shrivels...and Ive had many cat neutured

I booked an emergency appointment at the vets thinking my cat had a tick. It was his nipple. The very nice vet didn’t charge me for the consultation lol

My lesson for the day re nipples on male cats! I've only ever had females and even then you can't often get close enough to check the belly!

Mine trims her own belly, obviously likes her nipples on show too 😂

This thread has reminded me of a rather embarrassing incident that happened with one of my kittens many years ago - embarrassing to me, not the kitten.

We hadn't had our two kittens long when early one evening one of them did a poo in the litter tray that had a whole lot of bright red bits in it.

I thought it was blood and in a panic rang my vet who told me to bring the kitten in straight away.

I duly packed up poo, kitten and children and rushed off to the vet.

Vet looked at the poo and said 'it certainly looks like blood'. However, after he'd had a good dig through it he realised pretty quickly that it was bits of plastic.

My children were really keen on those plastic model straws that were popular in the 80s, don't know if they're still around, but kitten had clearly been playing with one and had chewed her way through it.

Vet and I had a good laugh about it and, bless him, he didn't charge me for my outside hours emergency appointment. But, boy, did I feel stupid.
